I'm going.

I was born Tasmania, and lived there till I was 8, so my whole family is coming down to visit friends we have there.

Odds on this will be first thread of many that degenerates into a "How much will we lose by this week" thread. For the record by guess is 62 points.

Not to concerned about the result of this game but you would have to think that considering we started training about six weeks earlier than Hawthorn we would have to be fitter than them & should stand us in good stead!

Anyone know if Watts is going to play in the NAB cup? Would love to see him out there. The more games you can get into him the better he'll be!

FWIW, no reason at all why you won't beat the Hawks. I'm expecting a very inexperienced Hawthorn lineup in the NAB Cup. Especially the first few games.

If Hawthorn play like they did first up last year (when Paul Roos had to drag players to let them win as he doesn't believe in the NAB cup and Sydneys record shows it), and we play like we did against Geelong where Wona, Zomer, Buckley and Valenti were the only 4 to show anything it might be a pretty average game.

I know its not the real thing but a win against the Hawks would be just as good, we really need the sponsorship, membership and belief that it could deliver.

Dees will win this one. Hawks are resting a lot of stars, will be less motivated. I already have 3 jugs and 6 shots on the game.

I will watch the game in Melbourne to avoid infection

How's yout team likely to line up?

We probably won't have the following players: Hodge, Lewis, Croad, Ellis, Renouf, Campbell, Buddy, Young and Ladson.

Would have therfore thought we'd start something like:

FF: Stokes - Williams - Rioli
HF: Dowler - Roughead - Osborne
Ce: Morton - Mitchell - Bateman
HB: Birchall - Thorp - Tuck
FB: Guerra - Gilham - Murphy

Ru: Taylor
RR: Sewell
Ro: McGlynn

I/C: Walsh, Dew, Muston...

Probably gives you guys a very good chance. Hopefully be a good game - injury free.

I hope we play as strong a lineup as possible.

Definitely wouldn't hurt to win the NAB cup. And you get $0 for losing in the first round.
