As a friend commentated to me, she was predicting others to go of a drug overdose - Lindsay, Britney, Amy and didn't think of him at all as a possibilty.
With Brad Renfro also dying earlier this week of a drug overdose as well....
Condolences to Heath's family, friends and young daughter. It will make seeing The Dark Knight an interesting experience.

The Dark Knight is in post production but rumours doing the rounds at the moment is that they had left open the possibility of The Joker not actually being killed. This now shuts that possibility. Christian Bale has been quoted previously that Heath steals the movie well and truely with his performance.
The bits I have seen of the prologue and the trailer seems to indicate that it will be a fabulous.

I saw a preview for it last weekend, and it looked awesome. Will be a strange premiere, without one of the lead actors present.

Family (and doctors) are saying it wasn't a suicide... rather an accidental overdose (maybe). Apparently he had pneumonia and had taken a sleeping pill (s). They are doing an autopsy on Wednesday.

I got my first Heath Ledger joke last night, it amazes me how quick people come up with these.
