Well, the power at be at bigfooty doesn't want me posting here anymore.

Since my username has been "banned" :eek: I will have to post unregistered, but apparently, even though this can't be stopped, he doesn't want me doing this either.

Now, I'm not one to continue to do things out of "spite", so I probably won't be posting much anymore (stop cheering Joffa!).

Obviously, Bluey doesn't like old topics being brought up (especially lots.......... all about the same thing), which I suppose is fair enough, so I will have to cop my banning on the chin and respect the wishes of the powers at be.

I'd like to continue to post anyway, and give my thoughts on all things footy, but if they don't want me here, there really is not much of a point is there?

Sorry you got banned, but I guess your little effort the other night to turn this into the dan24 footy forum pissed a lot of people off, obviously bluey was one of them.
Anyway I am sure bluey will let you back after you have served your penance.
At least you can still use the bombertalk forum for now & bigfooty chat until they make it for registered posters.

A few weeks back when I popped in here, there was a whole heap of bitchin' and moanin' about how all these rubbish posts were sending BigFooty down the gurgler - which they probably were.

There was calls for all kind of drastic action to be taken - some quite severe.

Now I notice that your calls have been heeded, that there are more moderators, that the boards are generally cleaner and some users being banned.

You asked for tough action to reclaim the boards and you appear to have gotten it!

But still you are bitchin' and moanin'!

(For what it is worth, I think Dan should have just gotten a kick up the bum - banning was too drastic!)

I think you'll find most of the complaints were about unregistered morons who post utter crap or really offensive stuff, or people who post things along the lines of "go suck your mummy's t***ies" or similar Shakespearian hyperbole.

I doubt Dan's prank, although not timed perfectly, could be classed similarly.

It takes about 2 - 3 minutes each to move or delete a thread. Do this 25 times and it becomes very time consuming and tedious!

yeah that is nonsense.....

let's face it...what Danny boy did was put material on the 1st page that was already existing on other pages.

He didn't actually post anything new at all. So if the stuff was not offensive last time, why is it offensive now ? Because it is all on one page ? I don't understand it ? This could all be a prank but Bluey....if you really did ban Dan for simply bringing existing material up to the first page then that is a shocking decision. I have never seen Dan post large topics (one obvious one excluded) which were not about footy. I, like most people disagree with a lot of what he says, but who cares ???...at least he talks footy and not about incest or brothels or combinations of the 2. We have to put up with serveral posts which all end up with Easty vs Go South or one huge post about nothing, but Dan can't bring existing material back to the top ?

If people don't like the material, then within half a day it will be gone.

if this is for real, then perhaps you should let us all know what else we are not allowed to do. I would hate to get banned for resurecting one of Mr Rippr's songs for example, or a post from earlier this year saying Port would not win a game. Please let us know.

If this is a prank....then I apologize.

Bluey wouldnt know what day of the week it is. And you all deserve to be banned for being so scared of him.
 
Pretty pants decision Bluey - sure he winds everyone up and gives Essendon supporters a bad rep. but jeez he obviously LOVES the game and does bring SOME interesting viewpoints to the footy table.

Give him a 2 week suspension and let him come back through the twos....

I am with you, Dan definitely needs a suspension for all those old posts he brought bac, which all mentioned him. His giant ego has to be brought back to earth. One to two week suspension should suffice.

Anyway i think Dan deserved to be banned it was a stupid thing to do even though i found it humorous.
 
A few of you are being a bit hard on Bluey. On another thread, he asked Dan why he brought up all those old threads and we do not know if Dan gave him the basic courtesy of a reply or even an apology. If Dan did not reply or apologise, then he deserves to be banned. Having read Dan's first post here, I really don't think he understands the inconvenience caused to Bluey by making him lock/move threads, and his apology is at best, half-hearted. The other point is that Bluey is trying to encourage football chat by creating the General Discussion board so as to keep the AFL board on the one topic....Dan, by bringing all those old threads (temporarily) defeated Bluey's efforts.

Having said all that, a permanent ban is a bit harsh. I'd give him 3 weeks "gardening leave" and re-set his post count. Reduce the ban if he posts a sincere apology.
 
Dan's suspension should be similar to Michael Long's. He should be back after round one and any other act of major stupidity should see him gone from the boards.

I don't think many people are nagging here, we are just genuinely shocked if Dan has been banned, and are trying to figure out exactly WHY. You know, so we don't all end up doing the same thing. ;) lol. I found last night in chat that no one was sure if it was really us under our regular names coz so many people have been using others' names in chat. It's getting beyond a joke now.
