Actually, Morgoth was banished to a far away, lonely realm that cannot be reached by even the Valar. However, it has been said that he will eventually return. I think Sauron knows this.

And he was forgotten by most... because he was defeated. He may return indeed, and Sauron, being his servant, would probably know. And be getting ready... therefore before the complete and obvious return of Morgoth (aside from being a mysterious poster on an internet message board, identity unproven, and if nobody can reach him how has he got internet access?), Sauron will be noticed, therefore he is the more imminent danger.

And if you can say his name without a storm breaking and thunderbolt and lighning being very very firghtening, I'd say he's pretty far away.
