Help needed re: converting images

I need some help!!!!!! HOW do I convert bmp images to jpeg or gif images??? Is there any program I could use??

Any help is VERY much appreciated.

open your bmp images in paint...............up the top left hand corner, click on file ......save as.............jpeg
if that does not work, send them to me & I will do it for you

Thanks from me too, as sometimes i want to save pictures, but bitmap ones are always so large in file size for some reason.

I can't help but laugh at this - from someone who is supposed to be an "IT" student

Here it is, images101

- BMP (Bitmap) is uncompressed raw image data

- JPEG/GIF images are compressed. JPEG images may have lost image quality (optional), where as GIF images do not.
