Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?
I think the main reason people aren't buying PS3's is because the price is too high, so what does Sony do, bring out a cheaper console, you can simply not expect a console that is almost $300 less to have everything of the 60GB PS3 with no differences except that of 20GB less, if you were to bring out a newer and cheaper system of the PS3 then what may I ask would you take out of it?But again, this is more than just removing a few USB ports, this is removing backwards compaitibility. Instead of not being able to hook up extra controllers, gamers will not be able to play their PS2 games.
The number one selling console is still the PS2. People still want to play PS2 games. At the moment they don't want to buy a PS3 because they think it has no good games. Removing the PS2 catelogue is just giving people another reason to not buy the PS3. Given where the PS3 is at sales-wise at the moment they cannot afford to have that happen.
Here is an article for all you people bitching about the non backwards compatibility on the new 40GB PS3, interesting reading.

Hey, I don't disagree that it might not help, it is just the fact of what can you take out of a system $300 cheaper with 20GB less, there needs to be more than just that.Hard to deny its a bit of a weird move tho HBK. If the attitudes of folk on this thread, and the only 2 guys to comment on that blog entry are any indication.
How hard would it have been?
Given that the ps3 has bugger all decent games available, as others have said, the massive ps2 library can be nothing but a help to it.
Ok, the time has come...
in the red corner weighing in at $530 is the 20 gig HDD Xbox 360
In the blue corner weighing in at $699 is the 40 gig HDD PS3
Is 20 gig enough to save all the games I want??
Are the PS3 games about to start firing out now?
What would you do?
Help
And also. if you want to play online wireless. you have to buy an adaptor. where as with the PS3 it's built in.
PS3 doesn't seem to have any hardware issues SO FAR (i know 360's problems have been adressed, but you could still get a console from an older batch)
If you want to upgrade your HDD. on the 360 you buy a microsoft HDD. on the ps3 you buy any 2.5" sata laptop HDD. Cheaper.
my cousin just recently purchased an XBOX360, so i lent him my 2 cordless controlls and they didnt work (wouldnt connect to his 360), does anyone know why this is?
Replace that with 360... save some mulash and get better games....any recommendations?

You realise there is only 1 in game screen there ( which is Haze, looks average TBH )Forza:

GT5

Killzone2

Final Fantasy 13

My personal opinion is that within 6 months to a year, is that most people on this forum will have changed their preference to PS3.
So youre getting a 360 then?I'll stick to the better console.
You do realise that only the 2 shooters are in game screens, right?
I have played GT5 before, that is not ingame. The GT5 screen is in game. Even the most die-hard 360 fan would have to admit Forza looks like crap next to it. Check out this video if you'd like to see more:

The Final Fantasy one is a cut scene.
But it's a cut scene that wouldn't be possible on a 360.
Here's an in game Final Fantasy one for you for comparison:

For one it is obviously not ingame because the players is not controlling a car.
Oops yeah meant GT HD. Played it earlier this year. And no, after playing that i dont see how those graphics are ingame.Considering GT5 doesn't come out until next year, I fail to see how you claim to have played it.
If you'd have played GT HD, then you'd know those graphics are indeed, in game.
For one, in replay mode you get the EXACT same graphic resolution as in game. In fact, you actually get LESS fps.
Gran Turismo games do not have cut scenes. They have replays. Same principle as Halo 3, it saves the exact data as a game file, then replays it allowing the user to change camera angles.
It's in game, matey.
