Hi folks,
I've got a 2TB hard drive full of media, that I run with the new WD TV Live SMP (a wonderful little media player)
Part of its charm is that it downloads metadata and backgrounds stills, images, etc from internet databases to create backdrops and info as you scroll through your media. Makes for a very nice GUI, with themes, custom backdrops etc etc
At first the Media Library function wouldn't work, but after reading the manual (derr), I realised I needed to untick the read-only box on my folders (as the media player creates subfolders for the data, and need permissions)
I did this on my desktop, and presto! Worked beautifully
However, my trusty desktop PSU died during the week, an when I connected the HD (Iomega) to my partners laptop, the read-only box was ticked again, and will just not remain unchecked. I uncheck it, it scans all media, I hit ok...but when I come back to it, it's checked again.
I know it has something to do with admin permissions, and I've hit the net for info, but so far nothing has worked.
Any guru help greatly appreciated.
