I have been following the NBA much more this season. I am beginning to learn more and more names and think I have all the big names covered. I can't choose a side though.

Please help me with choosing a side by listing reasons why I should support a certain team.

I think I have narrowed it down to Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Miami, Orlando, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio or Toronto.

Thanks. :thumbsu:

Watch some game recaps on nba.com, see if a team or a certain player stands out.

Ill throw out Minnesota, although this season has been rough we are in a rebuilding phase similar to what Hawthorn were in, we have a nice young core in Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Johny Flynn and Corey Brewer. Also not to mention Ricky Rubio who is currently playing in Europe.
To go with that we will have upto 3 first round draft picks this year, 1 will certainly be a top 5 pick, We will also have the cap room in the offseason to sign a key free agent.
So just throwing it out there but things are looking up in 'sota'.

Wade and LeBron.

but they're probably both gonna change teams anyway right?

Houston if you want a team of hardworking role players who hustle each play. With Yao back next season I can see us making a huge splash in the playoffs. With the Tmac trade on the brink its could even net us a legit shooting guard (AI2).

Very limited opportunity left to get on OKC before they become a bandwagon.

I can't help but notice Minnesota isn't on your list.

If you enjoyed watching a list being knocked down and built up to ultimate success a la Hawthorn, then get aboard the T-Wolves now.

Wins mean so much more when they arrive so infrequently. Following the Wolves is character building and fun. Draft boards in early January, getting excited over narrow losses, we have it all.

This will be dunk of the year:

You Wolves fans are a sadistic lot, eh?

It's not enough that you have to suffer, you have to rope others in as well ;)

NO
Chicago,
Houston
New York,
Philadelphia
Toronto
Detroit

VALUE (pick a team with at least one all-star in it)

Boston (Kevin Garnett)
Cleveland (LeBron James)
Miami (Dwayne Wade)
Orlando (Dwight Howard)
Phoenix (Stoudamaire and Nash)
San Antonio (Duncan)

I think you have forgotten one team that has the best value of all right now, that is the Denver Nuggets. (If I was in the states this would be the first team I would want to see; Then the Cavs, Heat and Lakers).

I was halfway through a post trying to explain why he should follow the Raps but had to bail on it. Unless your already involved, its just not worth it. Its a whole offseason of having the tires pumped up and expectations raised, followed by a few months of absolute mediocrity, followed by a late season run that kills your draft picks.

Treadmill teams FTW... :o

This was gonna be the same reason I was gonna say you should follow OKC. We traded older players and started by getting 2 young studs in Durant at pick 2(Roughy) and then Green at pick 5(Franklin). With Franklin and Durant now being 2 of the most exciting young players for their respective sports. We also have a couple of other young studs in Westbrook and the rookie Harden as well as 2 more first round draft picks this year. Very young team doing much better earlier than expected just like the Hawks.. So get on board Junior:D

Yeah to be honest if you were going to jump on team right now, the Thunder are where its at. They have talented youngsters at every position, play hard (surprisingly tight D), and have one of the best young talents in Durant. Dude is having an unbelievable season right now, top 5 MVP in some circles.

lawl.

Agree with hammy that you could still jump on the OKC wagon before it's too late.

Or you can wait until LeBron or Wade choose a team (or stay put) this offseason and go from there, up to you really.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

In all honesty the team is at an absolute cross roads right now. Good choices in the next 12 months will be the making of a rejuvenated playoff-bound squad. Bad choices will kill the franchise for good. Looking into the abyss stuff.......

I'm not sure there are that many franchises who have that much riding on the decision making ability of the GM. Shit, we're f**ked aren't we.......
