Overall i rekon henry was pretty good 2day. He is looking like he is improving every game

I don't think anyone has, just the mere fact that with H's versatility he can provide another option up forward, down back, or as that mobile relief ruckman.

He's done well this year as a whole. Showed he can play up forward with his strong leading, and sure hands. Has proven a worthy relief ruckman, with his mobility around the grounds. And today was a good match to showcase his defensive skills. I felt he did quite well providing contests against players like Brogan when they were resting in Port's forward fifty.

Come to think of it, Henry Playfair is very much a poor man's Justin Koschitzke.

didnt say he was poor, just wondering who he has replaced in the side.

given he is a tall, i wouldve thought he replaced another tall, Loats or Chambers perhaps, or maybe he came in as an extra tall and replaced a small.

H replaced the second ruckman we used earlier in the year.

Having said that, H has played 16 games this year.

I think Henry needs to be played more up forward than down back. He can take a good mark, but his skills are not good enough for a backman. Has potential for mine though.

I still maintain that H is a true ruckman.

His rucking skills, admittedly in the VFL, are classes better than Loats, Chambers, Smith and even Blake.

If the club gave him a genuine opportunity in the middle, and got Damian Bourke working with him, he'd be a quality relief ruckman by this time next season.

If he was Given game time across half forward he could be a centre-half-forward, which would be much more beneficial than him being a bit player in the ruck.

Mate, you've got to be dead set kidding me. All 4 of those guys especially Loats are better ruckmen than H. You musn't see much of these guys or if you do, you have no idea.

You say Jeff Smith is a better ruckman than H, and then have the temerity to say i have no idea.

The irony is delicious.

Question : where is H going to play his best footy , forward, back or on the ball?

That's a really tough question.

My feelings on his rucking ability are well known, so i'll set that aside.

With the other two spots, i feel he's a far better option in defence, rather than forward.
He reads the play well, and has solid hands, so would probably be suited to the third tall role.

I think H has got good upside, a player who will progress gradually and improve untill he is an auto selection in our best 22.His next period of development however should be to settle him in a position.
If he is a backman, and we need a backman, his height might mean that he will eventually take over from Harley at CHB. He doesnt really look badly out of place, not too much different to how Matty looked in 2000. He would however need to be able to learn to run with the ball better and kick on the run, something he doesnt look comfortable with at the moment
At times Ive liked the look of him at CHF but I feel he lack a touch of something , so that position might always be hard for him to produce at consistantly( a bit like BG)
Can he play FF/FP?Is he strong enough for man on man, is his set shot kicking reasonable? I have said numerious times , id like a resting ruckman on the ground at all times, if he could play FF or FP, it allows for 4 mids on the bench, it gives us a long bomb option, it would be handy as we have several medium forwards, like Mackie, that could grow into a role next to a taller player.
What ever the choice lets give the position and let him grow into it.Games time and Gym time is all that he needs to be good servant like Harley/BG has been.
