Henry Playfair?

I've heard a few times he's been flying in the 2's, but cant get a gig with the Cats. Some have pretty high opinions on him on other boards, but I know very little about him. Anyone got any thoughts?

I think we went after him last year and he knocked us back.

We definetly expressed interest but not sure why it didn't work out. I think you might be right that he knocked us back.

I was kind of hoping we would stop recruiting other teams key forward rejects and develop some of our own

We are developing our own, just it will take atleast 1-2 more years and with our success lately in trying to develop KP forwards, no guarentee they will be the stars we want.

We really need Sellar and Tippett to develop in to our gun forwards. Otherwise we've wasted so much time and energy once again on failed tall forward options.

Well, catzfan is half-right in his post, Playfair is showing some handy signs at CHB (marking everything in sight the past few weeks) in the VFL. It may be enough for him to save his spot on the 'still wanted' list down here (purely as a back-up though), but he's hardly untouchable (or worth an early pick).

Sydney supposedly are after the home-grown lad as well, but I'd be surprised if we squeezed anything greater than a 3rd Rounder for him.

He did well at CHB in the granny in the VFL but at AFL level- he isn't the answer to our forward line. He's pretty tall and mobile but doesn't use his brain.

developing into such a fantastic centre half back he is playing in the magoos. nice one. perhaps a third round pick is more realistic, assuming we were interested (which i doubt we are)

Wrong there. Just been anounced that Damien Hardwick will coach Essenon next year. Suppose Port will claim him as one of theirs as well.

i would rather have Ian Perrie

but our club loves to build up its huge stock of serviceable players so i wouldnt be surprised if we pissed up another 1st or 2nd round draft pick on White or someone similar

Was on the melbourne edition of sports tonight. Don't think essendon have announced it yet, but when they come out with stuff like this they are not often wrong. Then again it is channel 10.

Exactly, but it appears that there isn't a great deal of forward talent to be had, so I assume we will have to develop our existing guys.

dont know why anyone would be interested in big Hank, but if you are, i suspect the third round pick is quite generous that we would take in a heartbeat.

If Adelaide got Playfair it would be like having two Perrie's...except this one can't get a touch.

He is useless and will get dropped from Geelongs list this year.

Hardwick has the job on the proviso that they cant lure Bomber Thompson or Mark Williams to Essendon. The other Candidates (Sumich, Knights, Daniher) have been told they wont be getting the job.
