Love the SuperShue!! Watching games from early last year and even NAB cup, Shuey never really went in looking for frees...
He would go in hard and usually come out the other end with the ball and without sticking his neck out for contact...
I really hope he goes back to this, this year.. He is a far better player than that...
I agree. Needs to cut the playing for frees out of his game.

Would also be good if he didn't go around belting blokes this year.
I don't mind it tbh. Obviously, we don't want him missing too many games and with loadings for repeat offenders, it's not a sustainable long-term strategy, but a bit of hostility and physicality isn't a bad thing. We don't want teams thinking they're going to have an easy time against us.

I always thought Lewis Stevenson should have just belted someone. It would have forced him out of his shell a bit and he would have realised every fear he'd built up in his mind wasn't as bad as he'd imagined. I think it would have improved his game.

Anyway on topic, it's always good to read a positive article about the Eagles, but this one is a lazy bit of journalism. It's basically just rehashing previous articles as well as the Rising Star vid.

I get what you're trying to say, but I'm betting the coaching staff and his teammates do mind him getting rubbed out for 3 weeks of a season.

You're probably right. Put it this way, if I had to choose between a player that's a bit too rough and a player that's a bit too soft, I'd prefer a bit too rough.

Love this dude, cheered so loud when he kicked his first goal with his first kick against Brisbane a couple years ago, total gun

Its funny as he talks about his first goal in that video , that is one of my fav highlight videos and gives me chills everytime i watch it.

His first goal for the eagles was an Intra Club match at Subi. It was the oldies Eagles v the youngster Eagles. There was a boundary throw-in at the city end 50m arc, Shuey grabbed the ball from the clearance and slotted a left foot goal from 45m out on an acute angle. Time stood still that day...
