the reason why the likes of broughton is listed is not to say he is not a good player for freo but in SC terms he has run his race. There is no guarentee he will get his average from last year but his new value makes him high risk. You need to get a rookie of 83000-120000 to go up in price like broughton last year and then trade him and use his price increase to get another star player you can t afford in the beginning.

Hmmmm, I considered him still. He finished the season off well, and he won't make the final cut (since there are better options), but I'm sure his average will probably rise a little this year.

Make sure you are talking about the same guy. James McDonald is on his way out and you should steer clear. Joel Macdonald (ex. BRL player) has been a decent SC'er for a while and should build on that this year at Melbourne.

FWIW, the former is a midfielder, the latter a backman.

Yeah, I am. Before Bigfooty, I had McDonald on my team, thinking he would lift. When I started coming on here, I picked up Macdonald.

Now I have neither.

No reason to dump Macdonald Thomas, averaged 75,95,80 last three years, played every game last year and he should have a good year being one of the better skilled Demons defenders.

Not sure they where writing off Broughton and Anthony, just that they where near Premium price after 1 year in the game. Risky when proven SC'ers where around similar $$$$.
