currently in barcelona shaking my head at yet another defeat. (could be in worse places i guess)

remember after the geelong game when there was a debate about clapping the team off afterwardsand you said that the fans had to get behind the team for them to start winning again.

i thought it was an interesting theory and said lets see how it holds up over the rest of the season....3 losses later methinks it doesnt quite hold up

i am interested in your view on the current state of freo fc and this very worrying lack of nuts in the last qtrs.

not trying to be a smartarse just interested in your view giving the recent losses...most particularly against melb the week after

Looks like we might have a tag team match on the under card at our night out in August. MadMac + London Docker v Ripper + Bushie. I'm backing the old blokes, speaking from previous experience I know that Ripper fights dirty!!

Great atmosphere (best since the final against Melbourne IMO) at the Cats game and that helped lift the boys IMO.

I cheered them off as they gave there all and were 2 inches off winning.

I wasn't there but I would certainly not have cheered them off after the subsequent games as they did not give their all.

Over the years I have heard "I don't care whether they win or lose as losng as they give everything they have have" ad nauseum.

To get the best out of people you have to use the stick and the carrot.

Too many of us are selfishly focused on the Win / loss at the expense of "the process".

Get the process right and the wins will come rapidly.

There is a hell of a lot right about "the process" at the moment.

"The process" at the moment is falling down in the last part of the game as the boogyman of the win/loss comes to the foreground in the last moments of the game.

E.G. Pav kicking OOF , hitting the post , not using Mundy when in the clear.

I actually thought They were better the last game with a number of players still trying to take the game on right up until the siren.

Better to take the game on and lose than not.

I am amazed how whether you win or not polarises people perceptions - win by a kick and no one get any real scrutiny and the passengers can fly mostly under the radar .

Lose by a kick and 90% of the players are duds and should be delisted / traded.

In my sport I have seen many people sell their dud race car and buy a new one only to be beaten by the person they sold it to.

This trying period is a going to be a blessing in disguise in the long run as the wheat is sorted from the chaff.

I liken this season to Sydney in 2002 where they lost at least 6 games by less then 2 goals.

They have won a flag and made the finals (2GF) since.

I will start to worry if we drop the bundle and cop a few floggings from here til the end of the year.

Every game is critical from now on - We have to be as consistently competitive as we have been or We will be in strife.

good reply ripper

you seem like someone who knows his footy and has considered opinions....more food for thought for the plane trip home to london today

good comparison to sydney...hopefully we do half of what they have achieved (win a gf, they can keep their losing one)

and from a purely selfish perspective...least i wont be missing out on any dockers gf this year while in london
