Well I just looked up some of the lyrics to his songs like Gin and Juice and I DONT EVEN KNOW IF THE AFL SHOULD EVEN BROADCAST THAT! What is he even on about?? A lot of words I can't repeat and it sounded very misogynistic.

I think if I was allowed to book talent the pregame would be much better. The AFL is a regional bush league so it probably can't afford real acts like Thom Yorke but imagine this:

It would be a night Grand Final, you then dim all the lights with deep red filters and have Thom play Suspirium from the Suspiria remake and I would have ballerinas from the Paris Opera Ballet (as if the VFL could afford them either) performing on stage.


The audience would be slightly unnerved, right where I want them! That's when I hit them with Pendercki's 'If I Forget You, Jerusalem!'

As the song ends and the ballerina's wind down into a forlorn pose in a ring around the stage, I will focus a bright white light, a ray of hope. By now I have smelted the entire football world down into existential dread and horror, now I have to lift them out.
