Great point by Willo, Hird gives an ump a pasting and is almost deregistered for bringing the game into disrepute then publicly humiliated

Kerr is proven by police tapes to be a drug mule and the AFL says yeah no problem with that

Top 4 would be nice,
but would be pretty hard..
I do hope the team does finish in the top 8,to finish his career off on a high note. I'm gonna miss him :(

i reckon hutchy took hird's words the wrong way. all jimmy said is that he wanted to finish in the top 4 and he believes that it is possible.

haven't most sides said that they want to finish in the top 4?????

And it seems everyone has taken what Hird said the wrong way, but idiots in the media need to sell papers I guess.

Thought Scotty was fabulous on 'On the couch'. Spoke really well and was interesting to listen to. Also the question to James about why Scotty had never been considered for captain was well answered. Something I had always wondered about!
 
i agree abers. scotty spoke very well. i think he surprised healy, mike and walls with how well he handled himself.

Yeah, what did he expect Hird to say, 'we're aiming for 12th'?

I was really surprised Hird was on the show actually. He's never liked Craig Hutchison and, judging from last night, with good reason.

I think a good year for Sheeds and the Dons would be to make the finals in all honesty. The football community prior to the season thought they were bottom 4 as a general rule. Sheeds will keep his job and rightfully so if he gets them into the finals and the way they are playing at the moment that is very likely. The test will come as the season progresses and we see how the young blokes handle it.

Also, and this is an obvious point highlighted last year, if either Lloyd or Lucas goes down the Dons are all of a sudden in a lot of trouble.

I wouldn't be thinking too far ahead. Twelve months ago Geelong were flag favourites after two rounds. If anyone thought we were bottom 4 material for 2007, they're a poor judge. I would think 9-12 would have been a fair assessment.
