Both sides have fed the media along the way - that much is plain to everybody.

Sounds like James Hird feels it's time for his side to deliver the media an 'update'.

Good point, any other news on this anyone?

May not even happen.

It won't be because James is committed to allowing the ASADA investigation to reach a conclusion before making comments?

I generally agree a guy has a right to do a counter interview if things are all reported on one side. But if Hird does a 'tell all interview' I won't even bother. Why, because his apology consisted of "I should have known'. He may have been ignorant about the extent to which Dank went, but Hird was liaising heavily with Dank and had his own injections. He himself wanted the edge above opponents in the competition. Hird knew more than the content of his apology. So no, would no even waste my time listening to it.

The media was not altogether one sided, Fox was certainly sympathetic. True, the majority of press was perhaps sided against Hird, but only because for whatever innuendo may have been reported, some dodgy stuff went down in Essendon territory.

If the reporter questioned Hird hard and went after any inconsistencies in his version of events, it would be great watching. Same as the Weapons would have been great viewing if Darcy had of done the same.

"Tell all" ??

Yeh, right. Will he be under oath?

He'll tell all his side of it, the best it can be spun to a 'journalist' specially selected to only ask questions he can look good answering.

standbyhird fanbois will lap it up, everyone else will think it's crap, whatever is said (or not said).

sums it up really. Its a lose/lose ploy by Hird.
He was/is judged prior to anything coming out. and regardless of what he says, it isnt going to change anybodies opinion of him or the situation.

Personally, I'd walk away and just wait for the next soapbox scandal to come in and drown the white noise around this out.

His story will be for Essendon supporters as much as anyone. Whether opposition supports believe him is irrelevant to me. I want to hear what he has to say

soooo, basically if you don't agree you will decide if it's accurate or not. VERY fair and impartial of you.

More like your interpretation of the snippets of behaviour youve seen in the media.

Classic attitudes here. People have bagged Hird for not telling his story as he said he would. Now he's about to theyre analysing his comments before he makes them.

Oh BF, you never fail to deliver

But Mxett he was, with a gun held to his head forced to sign a confidentiality agreement, now he is coming out with the truth(or half truth or outright lies) that will put him in a good place.

you guys cant have it both ways, confidentiality or james version of the truth which as we have seen this year is not very reliable.

When Robinson does a "tell all interview" it's taken as the gospel and the truth. But when Hird is not even given a chance to talk it's all HES LIEING!!

I for one would be interested to hear what he has to say...

Hence I asked early what the details of the confidentiality clause were. Was it just about the BTGID charges or was it that he couldn't say a word. Given Thompson spoke to FC immediately after his penalty was negotiated I'd be surprised if Hird couldn't tell his story.

Somewhat true, but more that I think that very few people, whatever their allegiances will view this in a fair and impartial way.

Go down to any courtroom, you will find many people insisting they're innocent, some will be, some wont, but neither the friends and family of the accused nor those of the victims (to stretch the analogy somewhat) will have their opinion changed by prepared statements made in response to his own lawyers questions.

Hird's reputation is shot unless ASADA comes out and clearly states that there definitely was no illegal drug use. Any comments regarding obfuscation or poor record keeping and the public will assume, on the balance of probabilities, that the obfuscation or poor record keeping was hiding something.

No amount of denial or Today Tonight interviews from Hird is going to change anything.

Naturally, but when you enter a conversation on someone already saying they have no credibility, it doesn't leave much wiggle room does it? Sadly, there a more than a handful of people here who have invested so much
hatred into this that for them to concede any other viewpoint is tantamount to damaging their own credibility and to even be, dare we suggest, wrong. Some people take a damage to pride harder than others I guess.

Hird has played silly games with the truth the whole time e.g. "I never called a doctor in the US" (ha fooled them it was actually a pharmacist).
He's also surrounded himself with lawyers & PR types.
There's two reasons why I won't blindly accept everything he says at face value.

Fool you once, shame on Hird. Fool you quite often, shame on you

It will be interesting to hear what he has to say.

Interesting timing maybe he his just getting his version out there before the final report comes out.
but the only tell all interview i'm really waiting for is Danks after he has been summoned

brace yourself, because i have exclusive insight into what he's going to say:

it's going to be a pile of narcissistic self-serving rubbish, painting himself out to be some sort tragic victim in all this in an attempt to regain some public support. he'll tell us he took the hit to protect his beloved essendon. everything he says is going to be a rehash of what we already know, he won't say anything that might shock or damage the afl/efc because he thinks he's going to be head coach again in 12 months time.

source: hird's behaviour over the past year.

And he'll tell us he could have fought on like Bambi and won, but instead nobly took one for the team.
