Multiplat Hitman: Absolution

Finally got enough time to finish it today. Excellent game, my GOTY so far (although now that I'm finished, I can finally start Far Cry 3, which has been staring at me for about a week now, so GOTY may change soon). I played through on Hard and it was legitimately hard, which I love. Tried for suit only and infiltrator on every level but with some of the missions at the end I had to abandon my suit only ways. Too bloody difficult.

I only need 3 achievements to get 1000/1000 gamerscore but one of them is getting all the evidence and I don't know if I could be ****ed with that tbh. Does anybody know if there's a way to check what evidence you've collected for each level without actually going into all of them?

Hitman was GOTY for me as well up until 4 days ago, then i played Far Cry 3.

Oh man i was meant to finish up next Friday for xmas but now Im working in between xmas and new year :( (damn you Vic Roads and Powercor)
But a week and a bit at the beach house awaits after that, oh yea.


Btw imo Hitman is better than FC3.

I have to agree with this.
 
Finished it up tonight. Fantastic game, Hitman through and through until the very end, it's good to have an old friend back! Can't wait to see where they go from here, IO have now officially handed off the series to another developer, so they better do as good a job with it as IO have done over the years.

In terms of where this sits now in my GOTY standings, I'll leave that to stew for a few days considering I've finished both Hitman and Far Cry 3 in the last couple of days and both are absolutely outstanding games, well worthy of best game of the year status.

Right now I'm probably leaning a little more on Far Cry 3, purely for consistency and fun levels. Hitman, while fantastic, did have some consistency issues and it's fair share of frustrations, which is part and parcel with Hitman games but when Far Cry 3 was just pure fun it makes that stand out a little more.

Onto Contracts mode!!
 
I've enjoyed this more then FC3 at the moment and is currently my GOTY.

I'm just amazed by this game and I hate myself for never fully playing one before. I blame HBK for that.
 
Just finished it then, awesome game, close to my GOTY so far, will get into Contracts mode and FarCry 3 now, and also Halo 4 which i still haven't finished.

Can't wait for the next one, these Hitman games are just the best.

Square Enix has officially announced that the Hitman: HD Trilogy is coming to stores early next year. The collection includes three past Hitman games, with a spiffy HD coating.
The collection, which is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 29, includes HD updates of Hitman Contracts, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman Blood Money.

Trying to get all the achievements for this on the 360, 700/1000 at the moment and am stuck trying to get the one worth 20G where you evade attention from enemy's, i thought i would have done that by now? isn't it when they come looking for you and then stop and it's all clear again?

Just started.

Up to the part where you are looking for that Wade guys 3 buddies in the crowded chinatown.

The game is challenging for me. I primarily avoid stealth in games I play and would in this if I was able to leave places while cops were on 'high alert' I'm not really a patient player so I guess I'll have to get used to it.

Only played for about 30-45 minutes though so hopefully I adjust.

I'm the kind of guy who when he is spotted or unnecessarily kills someone has to restart from checkpoint or the entire level :oops:

Probably GOTY for me but admittedly I haven't played to many...well it beats the new COD that's for sure. The best games are the ones which have levels/challenges (offline) which you can replay/re-try over and over.

LOL this. Every time I stuff up I go Rambo before restarting.
 
Pretty sure I'm up to the last mission, it's after you
get back the girl and kill the guy (forget his name) on the helipad
... I loved this game but the last few missions just felt a bit... well shit to me. It's like there is no way to do it without either killing someone you shouldn't have to or abusing the crap out of the instinct, which I generally tried to avoid. I know you gotta make the game harder as you go but it just felt to me that there were less ways to get to the target undetected than all the previous missions.

I got really frustrated in the penthouse when I was wearing the disguise which completely covered 47's body - even his eyes were covered - yet others still saw through it and kept raising the alert if I strayed into their view. I understand why it happens in other circumstances but this was just ridiculous.

Still a great game but the last few missions have frustrated me
 
This is the first time Ive played a Hitman game and really loving it.

A couple of questions.

1. This game is designed for replayability, right? For instance there are 36 challenges for the 1st open mission. It's impossible to do all those in one hit so the incentive is there for people to replay missions and find new ways to kill targets??

2.This is less a narrative driven game, and more a series of individual missions. Kind of like Batman's 'Combat Challenges'. The similarity being that you get to the end of a stage, but keep trying to beat the score you set in getting there. Fair comparison?
