Could anyone give me any tips? I can never seem to win the hit outs anymore, its frustrating. Maybe it's because I am playing with Collingwood and Darren Jolly is my ruckman? However I remember when the game first came out I always won the hit outs, it's just recently I can't win them anymore. Is there some sort of trick, because I am hitting it when the controller vibrates or close to it.

I thought the vibration was the best time to hit - like right at the beggining of it. Basically do it when the ball stops. (as in its not going up anymore, but its not coming down yet either.)

Vibration definitely isn't your opponent winning it.

Here is what you do to get better though. Go to Footy Factory, jack up your ruckman's hitout stats to 99, and go dominate :)

Actually, you quite likely won't dominate because everyone else has ruckmen that good too.

It is incredibly frustrating.. I find that even when I win the ruck (usually by punching, tapping hardly works against good ruckman) it always goes to the other teams advantage.. it's almost easier to get it after they win the tap..

what ever was changed (has to be something) I can no longer win a hit out to advantage at all, 9/10 of them will just go to the opposing team. anyone have an idea of what I should now be doing?

Yeah directing taps has become your enemy as your players run away from the ball drop and gives the opposition a free run into their forward line.

On the odd chance you do get the ball to your midfielders you get tackled and the ball spills forward into space goal side for your opposition and they go into an open forward line.:mad:

I didnt think the ruck was an area that needed to be tweaked.. the gameplay needed to be faster and the correct player speed stats needed to be patched. You shouldnt be able to catch fast players with ruckmen.

Have recently found that staring at the top of the screen where the ball is going to stop, instead of following the ball's trajectory form the bounce, has led to a small improvement in taps won.

But as for hitting to advantage, I've got no idea. I just try and get it to the player who seems to be in the most space.
