Hodge to Grimes
Beams to Sheldon

Will have $436,300 in the bank. I can then make one trade upgrades in the next few rounds on Houlihan, Higgins, Krackouer, Rich, Lovett and Adcock.

Gilbee: Has struggled a lot. He had a big game on the weekend against the most unaccountable team in the league in Adelaide. Did what he wanted all game. Don't see that game as a return to form. Other teams will tag him.

Gilbert: Only worry is that when Hudghton and Goose return he may be played as a forward which would not be good for his fantasy stats. Mind you, I just read that Goose kicked 5 goals in the reserves......I doubt he did that running out of defense.

Newman: Anyone who crack 100 SC points off 15 possessions is gold in my opinion. Captain as well as one of your best players so will not be dropped under any circumstances.

Waite: 24K more expensive compared to Newman. Same stats. Only difference is that he needs more possessions to get the high scores.....which he manages to do almost every week.

Go either Newman or Waite. Don't forget to consider Enright as well.

Good reply mate.

Gilbee - Agree he will get tagged most week, but can see him having another strong game this week against the Demons (couple of tough games after that). He had a coupe of games where he has scored 80ish, but had a few clangers which is unlike him ... therefore his score was effected by clangers and effectiveness ... not the tag. But your right ... his scores will be up and down however he is about 70k cheaper than the other, which is cash that might be handy elsewhere.

Gilbert - Was goign to get him a few weeks ago, but though about the return of the blokes you mentioned. However they are yet to return and he keeps pulling in 100's, so the temptation is still there, but have probably missed the boat.

Newman - Concern with him is he is likely to drop a bit more in price this week. Also with raines back in the side it is likley he will be our go to man to create run out of the backline, rather than Newman. Also we all know Bowden is our chip to man.

Waite - Will probably average around the same as the others, so might not be worth the extra $$

Thoughts?

Still can't decide of I should trade Houlihan or Hodge !!

As crazy as it sounds, I might end up keeping Hodge and just hope he's finds some form in the latter part of the year since I don't really have trades to burn. Was intending to trade him next week but might have more pressing issues (like getting Suban out of my backline with an upgrade!)

I only have one spot on my backline left to upgrade and am really worried whether I should keep it open for Hodge.

Last week I decided I wouldn't touch him and started looking at Newman, but I really think Hodge can come back and storm it home when Hawthorn get Gilham and Croad back.

The next four weeks or so playing Cheney and Petrenko might hurt far too much, though.
