I think Hodge pushes close to legend in 20 years time.
Legacy will grow with time, will be spoken about as one of the best leaders of one of the most dominant sides.
Also the other candidates have no interest in football in their post career, I think he might build up a few brownie points from staying involved.

I’m all for Phillips and Pearce in. As ‘pioneers’

But the AFL would want to be careful. Are we soon going to see other 50-100 game AFLW players inducted. I can’t see any other former or current women’s player worthy. Maybe one day but you’d hate to see someone like Katie Brennan or Taylor Harris inducted. Starts to make a mockery of the award

Dennis Pagan not in the Hall of Fame yet? Laughable. Disappointing too. Fantastic coach - his record speaks for itself.

Not sure what you mean. Peter Hudson has been in since the beginning. So too Coleman.
 
Mixing up the AFLW with the true greats of the game over 128 years since 1897 is irksome. They should have their own night, maybe do it on their medal count night? The one take i took out of it all is players today don't love the game as much as the older blokes...

Mon Conti, Jasmine Garner, Emma Kearney, Ebony Marinof would all be worthy inductees.

Yet they induct Phillips and Pearce from a competition who's best team wouldn't beat an under 16 boys team from the EDFL!

The first person to kick 100 goals in an SANFL season, and he did it eleven times consecutively - every year except his first and his last. In all of these years, he topped the goalkicking tally, although in 1932 somebody tied with him.

Unfortunately for Sav he was full forward when the likes of Modra, Ablett, Dunstall, Lockett, Lloyd were dominating. AA was based on actual positions back when he was playing. Don’t think he’ll ever get in. There’s plenty of talent still to be recognized from playing days before him. Templeton getting inducted last year an example.

The Hall of Fame was a good idea to have as part of the centenary celebrations. Unfortunately, the design has become hicklety picklety regarding who is inducted and what it should cover.

Roger Merrett should be in ahead of Lyon.

In saying that, he should be in ahead of Neitz.

What he did for Queensland football, is not right he is still not in.

Chelsea Randall and Emma Kearney might retire on <100 AFLW games, and they're nevertheless locks. Even without taking into account pre-2017:
  • 3x premiership captain, 6x All-Australian, 6x AFLPA most courageous.
  • 2x premiership player (1x captain), 1x League B&F, 8x All-Australian.

Tayla Harris just turned 28 and is already a 4x All-Australian with 1 premiership. Bizarre choice of player to pick on.
