100% we’ll be at Waverley soon. And agree one is not contingent on the other. Just seems he isn’t wanting to involve himself on any home base discussion publicly that isn’t Caulfield. He may just see it as not helping his cause in negotiations. Even though it wouldn’t matter.
I don’t really get this. We’re not fooling anyone. We want to move in to Waverley in the next few weeks but for some reason don’t want to talk about it.

Both Guerra and Smith have now said we're definitely not moving there, yet all the players are talking about and Morris has reported it. It's bizarre.

Meanwhile, Jiath going from Waverley to AAMI to Waverley....

Like why can't we just be normal? Journos don't report things with no basis, if Morris has gone with it it is definitely happening.
He's usually pretty good, but his best Dees source has moved clubs now... :goldcoast:

Take this is reasonably reliable goss mixed with what we already know - Waverley is definitely going ahead. It seems the club is just trying to keep it under wraps until Caulfield is official, which might not be far off if the Smith comments are correct. So Morris will be correct, but the timing might push out a bit pending Caulfield.

Not 100% sure, but guessing there's some kind of negotiation tactic behind timing it like that. Also expecting the club to push a fund raising effort VERY hard off the back of the Caulfield announcement whenever it happens.

Speaking on Triple M on Thursday, Melbourne captain Max Gawn said the club was “chips in” on the move to Caulfield.

Gawn said the imminent move to Waverley was “news to me” but he had “seen it around that there was a potential chance”.

“It certainly isn’t even spoken about internally. So we’re happy at Casey. It’s a fantastic facility down there,” before adding, a tad sarcastically, that he liked the drive.

So the Dees are officially going to Waverley temporarily? Geez the Dee’s made a meal out of it. Reading the last couple of pages I feel for you guys with all the uncertainty. Does anyone know why the club hasn’t had a permanent home atleast 20 years ago?

Mate we haven't had a permanent home since we got kicked out of the MCG in the 80s.

None of us have any clue what's happening because they haven't actually made any updates. There seems to be a general acceptance within the industry and media that we are going to Waverley in the short term but the club simply refuses to talk about it. Every time they are asked about Caufield they just say "we are closer than ever" while providing no details.

The way this has been managed, I fully expect Hawthorn to ditch Dingley and turn Casey into a world class, destination club facility. Meanwhile we get caught flapping in the breeze when Caulfield falls apart.

My best mate's daughter plays for the Hawks. She loves the inside facilities, but says they basically train in a wind tunnel outside which makes it very difficult at times. She kinda hates it.

FFS Porky, we're going to end up with nothing aren't we?

This is so, so, so poorly managed by the club.

What would be wrong with us being 'stuck' at Waverley if Caulfield falls through? Surely the whole ****ing point is Waverley is better than AAMI?
