Crap performance, when will we learn to attack against Collingwood.
Trade bait,Buchanen can now be part of a trade deal, been a good player but is now an ordinary one.
Playfair is a gimp and dare i say it,should be replaced by Davis or Grundy.
Hall has let us down again, has done his job maybe should be thinking of his future with us,if that was Goodes a couple of posters on here would have had him hung and quartered.
Mchack after two mchacks in a row is now back to being Mchack, carn't play against teams that put on body pressure.
Tige is looking battered and has lost his zip and Malceski, you don't even notice him.
Leo,Leo,what a star you have been but you are now too slow and the opposition is a wake up.
To any fans at ANZ why do we these days only get the chant going when we are behind and having a crack in the last term,on the telly the ferals were louder,do we have a proper cheer squad these days that can make a noise(and thats coming from and old south cheer leader)what happened to the old Sydney chant.
And to anyone else on here that has a soft spot for the toothless ferals GET (sorry soph but this week don't talk about them)

This is the only part of your post I agree with Bedford but it's a good point. Maybe it was different at the game but you get the impression the crowd just couldn't care less in the opening quater of the game.

As for the rest of your post.... Maybe a bit premature on some of your calls. As I've stated before... I think many of our players were victims of Roos' gameplan which Malthouse has worked out to a tee. Need to come up with something different for the next encounter but I said that twice last year too. Wake up Roosy!

Agreed

I Think Kennelly Should Worry About His Football More Then Worring About Irish Recruits Let Us Down Tonite, Leo Is Not The Player He Was But Nobody Has Told Him That Yet And He Still Plays As If He's A Premier Defender, Defend Him But How Many More Shockers Can We Stand Just Play Percentage Footy And You Would Be Valuable But Play Like A Hero And Your Useless, Spida Gone, Malceski Kennely And Mattner Don't Have Much Defensive Skills And Whats More Don't Seem To Be Concerned About Improving These Skills They Much Rather Play Kick To Kick With Each Other Plus Many Others. Really Pisses Me Off Could Have Stiched Up Top Four Position And Yet Again Been Beaten In The Same Manner By The Same Opponent Roosey Have A Good Look At Yourself(another Blunder With Thomas In The First Half Miss Matched With Defensless Defenders Kicked Three Goals That Broke The Game Open, Add This To A String Of Miss Matches With Our Match Ups Very Sick And Tired Pointless Beating Shit Teams If We Can't Be Half Good Ones

I dont think it was as simple as a match up problem. I would go as far as suggesting that we should just completely change the way we play against Collingwood. Don't play man on man, clear the ruck area so the ball does not get locked in, and play on at all costs.

I agree.

I don't care if our tackling was better than theirs because I don't think our "pressure" would help us over the line with Collingwood. They hit their targets, they have clean hands and are hard at it throughout the 4 quarters. They create their own risks and push out wide if necessary. What frustrates me is that most of the time we're stagnant and we wait for someone to present themselves! They should just pump it long and see how things go, but for Collingwood they seem to work well with turnovers as well. They're just damn too good. They have support everywhere, in the middle, defence and forwards.

No The Match Up Was The Icing On The Cake Many More Problems.
Players Attitude- Kennelly Thinks He's Better Than He Is Dido Leo Buchanon And Others
Roosey Dosen't Seem To Want To Coach Much Longer Seems Pretty Clear Now Maybe Message Not Getting Through Game Plan When Challenged Stinks
Barry Hall's Head Seems To Be Somewhere Else Maybe Thinking Of Which Tart To Date Next
And Among All Of This Kirky Keeps Busting His Guts In The Middle

Completely agree. I love our gameplan most of the time but Malthouse has figured out how to beat it and it's up to Roos to come up with something different.

Nah...our season runs a normal course of 22 weeks...it's probably just a case of "go forward...just don't kick a goal":D

i'm glad you havn't lost your sense of humour.

but in Hall's defence he had limited opportunities and when the ball was pumped in long, so were 15 billion other people.

I'd give it a few weeks before crucifying your team. Simply put, we're your bogey side. We only just lost to Carlton for the 2nd time this season, and now we're back in the top 4 mix.

We're a bit more fortunate though, Carlton won't be playing finals footy. :p

But if i was to say something about a few of your players it would be:
How is Playfair getting a game? He tries hard, but he isn't an AFL standard player.
Hall needs to relax :p. The amount of frees he gave away was insane, and sadly for Sydney fans, i'd say they were all there.
Leo Barry has always been a great running backman, but he really got into trouble on a few occasions on the way out, and could have handled it better. But in his defence, people up field really didn't seem to working too hard presenting options.

Kirk is a gun too.

All well said bedford.

I think Grundy will threaten Playfair's spot. Can't afford to have those atrocious goalkicking attempts. Buchanan definitely under threat, may make way for Goodes.

Leo, unsure, I think he has still something to offer, I think the coaches have to tell him to rein in his side-stepping attempts.

McVeigh definitely getting some attention now, has to adjust.

Did anybody watch Playfair in the warmup? There is absolutely nothing wrong with his kicking. He slotted nearly every kick, from every angle.

Its all in his head.

In warm up there's 0 pressure. That's why.

Re: The crowd. It took it a while to get going, but when the Sydney chant was up and running it was magic.

You are right.

But I'm aware that you watched it on TV and it may not have been obvious (I haven't seen replay). They changed it radically in the last quarter. They kept many forwards deep and much less mids around the ball. That meant Jolly and Kirk a few times ablett could win clearance move it quicker into forwardline... but unfortunately that functioned like a constipated sewer!!

Dare I say on here even Bailey worked out how to beat Swans A gameplan:o .... he just didn't have the cattle to execute it

Yeah, as always its a lot harder to tell on TV but I assumed the first 3 quaters were played exactly the same as the 3 games last year but it was pretty obvious something was switched up in the last. The most frustrating part for me is that we haven't found a better setup when kicking out. I noticed we switched to the huddle after the the first quater but thats hardly what I would call revolutionary Surely Roos would have expected that Collingwood would setup the same way they did the last 3 times they beat us.

I saw that too and thought it was a good sign  and he must have been working on it in the break

In warm up there's 0 pressure. That's why.

If it were a pressure thing, he wouldn't have kicked the one he did. That was a real pressure kick and he slotted it. I don't know what his problem is.

It's related to his technique. It's not as if he is just shaving the posts or having them fade late, he is shanking them big time. Which is a shame because I thought some of the other things he did tonight were relatively good.

Its a mental thing. I had the same issues when I played. Once it gets into your head you miss consistantly, you apply your own pressure and ____ it up.

In the warm-up he did not shank ONE kick. Only missed two, one slightly and the other hit the post!

Momentary lapse of usual gimp-ness. Dw, he'll be back to normal soon enough ;)

I thought Longmire was coaching tonight? Got on the phone with Hall even with Roosy sitting next to Barry on the bench!

Longmire was. And I have noticed, when Roos is in the coaches box, we play better.

During our run of 6 wins, the first 5 Roos was in the box. Against Melbourne we were ordinary, and Roos was back on the ground.
