Had to get rid of Daffy and Bourke and their big contracts. We also were coming off a rare good year so our first pick was 17.

1. So Nick Daffy and pick 17 for Greg Stafford and salary cap relief.
2. David Bourke for pick 68 and salary cap relief.

Meant we had picks ...

33, 49, 63, 68, 77, 85, 90.

33. Rodan
49. Trade for Paul Hudson
63. Adam Houlihan
68. Chris Hyde
77. Martin McGrath
85 and 90. Pass (salary cap).

Rodan was debatable at the time, but he is OK I suppose.
Guys after 49 that we could have had instead? Only Brad Miller, Paul Medhurst, Adam Schneider and Brian Harris have been any good and we were never going to get Schneider after taking Rodan. So getting Hyde is a pretty good return from those late picks.

He was down at East Burwood with brodders and sziller and he could hardly get a kick in that comp so i dont think we've missed much
