What hospitals have some of you been in?

After being in them so many times which ones do you rate Highly.

Dandenong is pretty cool. So many friendly ppl in that hospital. And the staff of West Ward at Marhoondah are tops as well. Box Hill is best though.

Royal Hobart Hospital:
A disgrace for a Capital city hospital to be in the state its in.
Filthy and run down in many parts.
Very outdated, still resembles the 1930's.
Medical people do a great job under stressful conditions, very understaffed and under-resourced.
Waiting lists/queues are woeful here, that's IF you actually get seen to.
Public hospital - can't have the great unwashed having decent facilities!

Hobart Private Hospital:
Modern, sterile, very clean, but lacks character.
Has a very cold unfriendly look about it, medical staff are very diligent at their work but not overly friendly and comforting.
Must have money to get into this one, no plebs allowed

Calvary Hospital:
Along the Augusta Road in Lenah Valley, not far from here.
Nice big old fashioned hospital, but like the Private, only go there if you have money.
Seems to have outgrown the street it's on by a fair way, encroaching on the houses behind it, staff seem ok, if a little 'old money' in their appraoch at times.
Not too bad.

Went to Epping (also known as Northern) and will never again, i broke my wrist playing footy, first up they said it wasnt broken, then got a call a week later after already playing with a broken wrist that it was broken, and now that it had been left there was nothing they could do....

Went to Epping (also known as Northern) and will never again, i broke my wrist playing footy, first up they said it wasnt broken, then got a call a week later after already playing with a broken wrist that it was broken, and now that it had been left there was nothing they could do....

********test hospital, they said I only had constipation. I went to Children's Hospital a few hours later and they rushed me to the operating room as they said my appendix is about to burst.

King Edward Memorial Hospital - terribly run-down, there are big cracks down the walls and the lifts take like 5 mins to get from one floor to the next. Shame, because the staff were lovely, and have a shyteload of work - ridiculously understaffed.

Sir Charles Gairdner - Got misdiagnosed there, got lost as well. Staff were far too cold and clinical.

St John of God Subiaco - I had the "privilege" of visiting a couple of times, my god it was amazing. The interior was lush and sophisticated - it didn't even smell like a hospital. Noses in the air every which way you turned.

Royal Perth - similar to Charlies, so big. Great staff (although my mum works there so I'm a bit biased).

Fremantle Hospital - Fantastic views, best of the lot. Although I was a bit bemused that whilst visiting a family friend in the Cardiac Ward the only food on offer was chips and chocolate

Bunbury Regional / St John of God Bunbury - relatively new, should have been two-storey, badly understaffed, goes on bypass a lot.

Had the privilage of working at St John of God in Subiaco. Fantastic place to work. Best conditions ever for staff, patients and visitors.
