How can you be a good player with 27% efficiency

Thats actually a really good post.

one of the reasons i rate hird and voss so much higher than a buckley type player.

They had so many pressure disposals where buckley was always fed the ball in open spaces so he had the time to work on delivery.

palmer is a gun and hopefully he will shake the mentality that seems to weigh down so many other talented people at freo.

Mate buckley was a gun inside midfielder too.

The one thing I noticed is how ONE SIDED he is. Does Palmer have a right foot. I am getting gladder by the day we took Myers.

You obviously haven't seen him play much then as his right foot is reasonable but has no penetration.

It's a chip kick.

I saw a lot of Palmer last year and he has always been just a reasonable kick.

Having said that he is having a fantastic year and like i pointed out to everyone last year he isn't an outside player but can do both.

He should be commended for his work ethic and i can't ever remember a player in his first year work so hard and be so good at the same time.

I have doubts about his upside, mainly because he is soo good it's hard to see him getting much better.

He will cut out a lot of his mistakes and become a more complete player and i'm sure his kicking will improve to some extent but he will never be what you would call a great kick.

Not sure why there's so many talking down Palmer.

He's been fantastic and his kicking isn't as bad as it's made out to be. He's more inside than I thought and is very good in traffic.

He's already become their best midfielder yet Myers is barely in our best 22. There's a long way to go for Myers to overtake him if he ever does.

essendon fans will talk him down but am not sure why he is exactly what we need!! a decent midfielder who's kicking is a little poor can be fixed..

Meyers will be a better long term pick but Palmer I would want in my team now

ive played with both and thats exactly the case. palmer is performing at his peak now and to tell u the truth he wont get much stronger fitter or faster
whereas dave on the other hand has an enormous potential gap to his speed strength and athleticism
keep in mind he had an injury pre season and hasnt had a proper afl pre season behind him yet

i think i posted on this board not to worry when palmer started dominating
palmer was drafted as a quick fix, dave is a long term project and has already showed glimpses of why he was drafted so highly, if he gets a full pre season into next year watch out

My point is that it is worthless to have 30 possessions and waste 75% of them.

You must have been watching another game if you thought that palmer was Fremantle's best player.

Mc Pharland and Johnston were clearly Fremantle's best players.

And watson often gets 30 possessions with a low efficiency rating and is continually criticised by bomber fans but Palmer escapes such criticism.

his kicking efficiency was 27% but his overall efficiency was 50%(same as simon blacks), very good hands in contested situations
