Simmo Mk II.
Give him time and confidence, and he will succeed.
He is a versatile player who hasn't quite found his best position as of yet. For mine, JR is best suited on a half forward flank, where he showed at times during the year that he has a future if he is put in one position and stays there.
Has apparently been buoyed by the arrival of some guy from West Coast over the last month, as I imagine most of the club would be, and has been training pretty hard on the track thus far.
We now have great depth in the middle of the park, so I don't think JR will start in the seniors come round 1. Play him in the middle/on the forward flank for the 'Ants for the first few rounds and let him develop. This is how we got the best out of Simmo, and it works, so why not do the same with JR?
I reckon he might surprise a few people and work his way into the seniors, hopefully to have cemented his place in the 22, or well and truly fighting for a spot and for competition, by round 8.
