AFL Club
Carlton
It's Thursday evening and I'm not a happy camper with no deals being done yet. Let's hope that Friday brings it's usual rush for trades from clubs and that the CFC is involved in some.

With Whitnall re-signing for 2 more years and Fevola at the stage looking like staying, and little interest being shown in the rest of our list - what will our player list look like this time tomorrow? Look ahead peoples and think of a couple of possible deals. Try these.

Camporeale to Essendon for Mark Bolton (I'd take anything, just don't let him walk for free!!!)

Norman to the W.Bulldogs for Pat Bowden (seems to have been floated a little)

Lappin to ________ for ________ (please fill this one in)

Sporn to ________ for _________ (as above)

Davies to ________ for _________ (as above)

Prendergast to ________ for ________ (as above)

Stay or Go???
Bowyer (already retired)
Clarke (already delisted)
Morrell
Johnson
Wiggins

Possible trades?
Fevola
Lappin
Camporeale
Davies
Sporn
Norman

Under contract?
Prendergast
Bannister

Cheers all.

Not quite sure who would want Prenda or Davies.
Frankly I dont want Bolton and I would rather they give us a low draft pick so we can find our own stars.

Also hope that we can net a deal for Selwood or that he goes into the PSD.

This is what I'd try and get done tomorrow in the current Environment...

Trent Sporn and Pick 52
for
Luke Jericho and Pick 32

Pick 36 traded to Brisbane
for
Llane Spaanderman

Matthew Lappin and Pick 20
for
Brendan Goddard

Karl Norman
for
Patrick Bowden

Leaves us with...
Luke Jericho
Llane Spaanderman
Brendan Goddard
Patrick Bowden

Picks
1, 4, 32

PSD
1, and (maybe) a second round pick

* campo to bumers for pick 19 (they gave pick 23 for cole)
* lapin and prenda (they are looking for some kind of ruckman) to saints for goddard (rather luke ball but i thinmk goddard will be a good player when given a position to play)
* sporn to adelaide for pick 17 (as sellwood is not going to adelaide)
* norman to bullies for bowden

this will give us 5 top 20 picks and a former number one draft pick, and we get rid of the old dead wood and means we only have kouta who won't be there in 3 years time when we will be a force again.

The Carlton Youth Team:

B Carrazzo (21), Thornton (21), Raso (18)
HB Russell (18), A. O'hAilpin (20), Hurn (18)
C Simpson (21), Bentick (19), Murphy (18)
HF Fisher (21), Waite (22), Walker (19)
F Betts (18), S. O'hAilpin (22), Hartlett (19)
R Bryan (23), Blackwell (18), Smith (19)
Int Becker (19), Livingston (22), Deluca (23), Batson (19)

Have patience people. We don't need anymore hacks from other clubs.

Given that Camporeale is 30, Essendon will not part with their second round pick #19 that they acquired from Sydney as part of the Richards deal. We may to look at someone like a Mark Bullen as part of the Camporeale swap. Just don't let him go for nothing.

Would love to get Goddard to the club, so I totally agree with what Ozbomb said: Lappin (to replace Aussie Jones) and pick 20 to the Saints for Goddard.

Doubt we'll get anything for the rest of the players mentioned, however, i have said in previous posts that I just have a gut feeling that a trade will be done tomorrow that see's Fevola leave. Not sure where, but I think it may just happen

Lets. ******** Campo and ******** Essendon. If they want him let them have him. No more recycled hacks.

Gandaal, just don't think we can let him go for nothing. If anything, Bullen would add some depth to our midfield.

As much as Campo has been disappointing over the past few years, you just cannot replace a 10 year/200+ games player with an 18 year old.

I'd be happy with a Campo/Bullen trade.

What i am against is drafting recycled players. When it comes to the draft, we should go after the kids.

You can when your the wooden spooners and expect to be next season.

I realise you are probably being sarcastic Bluemike, but Nooooo, don't redraft Campo, choose a kid who wants to have a crack for the Blues, lets not cut off our nose

Missed out on Bowden, great to get Saddington though. Hopefully a trade for Camporeale and Lappin is done today. Essendon said to be keen on Camporeale so I would take Bolton, Winderlich, Reynolds, Cupido or a late draft pick. Anything, just don't let him walk out for free into the PSD, same goes for Lappin. Also, Sporn should be traded.

Trade week ended 45 minutes ago.
No more deals involving Carlton
Looks like Campo will walk but I think Skinny will resign on a 2 yr contract.

Have to agree, a real anti-climax after the rumours going around, as it is every year.

Should we have traded just for the sake of trading?

*Richmond did not have the cash to take Fev
*We did not want to trade Lance
*No other club prepared to give Lappin a 3 year deal
*No club prepared to give us something worthwile for Campo

The only one I'm unhappy about is that we didn't even see what clubs were prepared to offer for Lance

I really hope we don't redraft Campo.............scumbag

I definitely agree we should have shopped around Lance as now hes probably stuck at Carlton for the rest of his career due to next year clubs wanting to keep their draft picks and after that hell be 28.

I think Carlton should have taken a Third Rounder from Essendon from Campo so at least we can draft a youngster but am very happy we didn't end up with Bolton!

Happy with Fev staying and I hope that Skinny resigns.

Also shame that us ripping up Adelaide via Sporn didn't eventuate.

What delistings do we think we will make now? We have 6 national draft pick's and will promote Setanta and possibly Smith. We will also take a player in the PSD so we may need to delist around 8 players in total.

Bowyer and Clarke are already gone and Camporeale looks like he will keep walking away from OO. That leaves about 5 players to delist. Who do you think will get the chop?

Brett johnson
Diggers
Campo
Bannister
Davies

IMO there will only be 4 more delistings and campo quitting

ATM we have:

clark- out = o'halpin in
bowyer- out = saddington in
campo- out = PSD pick 1- in

leaving us with:

pick 1- in
pick 4- in
pick 20- in
pick 36- in

i don't think we will use any picks after round 3 as our next pick will be 68 and from all the talk it is a shallow draft.

likely 4 to go
norman
davies
bannister
&
johnson or morrell or wiggins

Patience alright if that's all we've got to look forward to...........half of that side have not even played 1 AFL game between them. Some of them haven't even played for the Bullants senior side!

I'd probably delist:
Johnson, Bannister, Prendergast, Chambers, Longmiur

These guys aren't getting better and have never shown much in the first place.

I think Wiggins is a backup, strong body for halfback and tagging roles. Digby for depth in forward line. Norman and Davies have talent and deserve one more chance

I'd like to Promote Smith. Maybe delist Wiggins if another mature age player (e.g. McClaren) is available in draft. I'd like a bit more depth in the ruck division.
