Thank god they had Jon Davidson. Somehow i think he will be the standout canadian player....

In reply they are off to a flyer, 3/39 off 11.

John Davison, the same John Davision that has played for Victoria

I think former West indian player Gus Logie is the coach of Canada.

Might be worth for Logie to play for Canada

I sincerely hope that whoever plays Canada bats first, so at least we might get in something close to a full match....

On the positive side, Namibia thrashed Gauteng (who seem to be putting in a reasonable show against the Pakis), so maybe 1 of the 3 'qualifiers' might put in a good show.

Canada a/o 148

Davison 47 off 59 balls (1 fours & 4 sixes)
Joubert 4/36 off 9 overs
Harris 3/28 off 8.4 overs

AB de Villiers playing for Northerns, is he any relation to the former South African test player .. ?

NOTE: Australia to play Northerns tomorrow, Thrusday 6th Feb 2003

Isn't there some South Australian based player playing for Canada?

John Davidson, who's played for Victoria and currently South Australia, is in the squad. He was the only player to gain some respect out of that thrashing yesterday.

As for statistical records, I would be pretty sure that we'll see the first ever double century scored by a batsman in a one-day international against one of these sub-standard attacks.

Can someone explain to me why Canada are rated 400/1 to win the Cup, whilst the other dud teams, including Bangladesh and Kenya, are 1000/1 or over?
