23.

Did Irons > Curnow last week and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Already made me $70k.

Don't post your overall rankings in here. WE DONT CARE.

22. I did Atley -> Libba and Richardson -> Tapscott.

I have a nice, healthy list (touch wood), and enough players for this week to have a full team + at least 1 emergency in each position, so will be holding off on any more trades until after rd 6

23, ranked 255th

Traded Swallow > Libba

How many trades do you have left? And if you think you are really good and would like to brag about it, post your ranking too in this and as many other threads as possible.

21 :p

Selwood > Dal Santo = Panic trade (yes i know dumb move plus I was intoxicated but I plan to get Selwood back on the cheap) :o

Atley > Curnow

Bewick > Libba

And for my next trick (next week)

Otten > Coad

Knights > Higgins :D:thumbsu:

Forward line of Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, Goodes, Higgins, Krakeour, Petrie

Looks like you and I started with the same 7 forwards JM.
Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, Goodes, Knights, Krakeour and Petrie.

I will be looking at doing something similar to you with knights, but thinking of maybe bringing in Cyril after rd 6 bye, rather than Higgins...

Currently have 23 trades. Last week: Hibberd-Curnow. Very glad I made this trade. Am now comfortable with all my rookies

I don't think my forward line is the problem (well Knights not scoring well is) but the rest of it seems to score well.

I have Cox and Sandilands in the ruck and 5 premium defenders. I think it's just my midfield letting me down with Selwood getting knocked out first week and only having 3 premiums in the midfield. I think I went too top heavy in defense and should have grabbed another premium midfielder. :o

I have a question - how many trades should I be keeping for later on in the season? This is my first season playing this and I stuffed up the start of the season as I selected my squad 6 weeks prior then didn't look at it until after round one had locked out. Have had to sub out players who were injured etc.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

You'll want to have a fairly settled team by around the 1/2 way mark and then make sure you have trades left for the final weeks as there are always injuries/players being rested. 6 trades for the final 4 rounds is ideal, and anything less than 4 you're relying on luck, or have great bench cover already.

23. Atley > Curnow.

With many of the rookie selections so far being reasonably straightforward / safe, and very few long-term injuries to popular SC players, 24 trades for the season seems pretty good at the moment.

I can remember this time last year having to trade out an injured Nick Riewoldt, and fixing up stupid mistakes like Mitch Clark and Kurt Tippett. Many were scrambling to get Jonathan Brown in and offloading Relton Roberts. There doesn't seem to have been as much of that stuff so far. Early days though.

Overall, 24 trades should mean the flexibility of a few more cows being able to be cashed in. Although it might depend on how many sideways trades (if any) people are setting aside for players with byes come the end of the year. And there are two extra rounds to negotiate to try to keep your trigger finger away from the trade button. ;)
