Hi, im not sure if we're talking about the same thing or not, but my dad has a footy like this, Im pretty sure his is numbered 1 of 750.

It is a 1999 Brownlow medal commemorative sherrin footy with gold leaf writing, hand signed by the great man.

maybe they are all numbered 1 of 750?, if there is anyone else out there with the same type of footy, can you please let me know,

thanks

Haha, Pitty i dont live in melbourne :P

Yeah its the exact same was your talking about!!

Do you have a rough estimate on how much??

Hey, my house was broken into last week and I had an item identical to this stolen.

lol.

Out of interest, since when are we flogging Hawks stuff on this forum? I think there should be a thread where people can get in contact with each other, but one off threads like this for footballs, number plates, etc shouldn't be happening. :thumbsd:

Yeah that's what I was trying to hint at. Bit weird.

Scenario
Scope out a price, list the auction online at 99c and then inflate the price to just below the price suggested on here with dummy bids.

Next will come the link to the auction.

I'm not saying this is gunna happen in this case, but could.

My 2c on it.

And besides, what's a Richmond player doing with a Hawthorn signed football? I actually think it isn't a Shane Crawford signature, but probably a hastily scribbled Richard Tambling signature that he's too embarassed to keep on the shelf. Wonder whether a football is worth more or less with Tambling's signature on it? :)

It would seriously be worth bugger all.

The only sporting memorobilia that is worth good money is the really rare, one off type stuff. Thinks like this that have 750, or 200 or even 20 going around are worth zilch.

One off stuff is the stuff that goes up in value. A good example of this is the once off Hawthorn pre-season jumper from about 7 or 8 years ago with the diamonds on it (the hideously ugly one) that is now worth plenty because it was not merchandised. The only ones available are unique as they are the ones that were actually worn by the players and are individually numbered. A handful of these were auctioned and are worth a packet due to their rarity and uniqueness (ie, there is only one that Shane Crawford wore, and one that Nick Holland wore, etc.).

The production line stuff like the item that you mention and the stuff that Channel Nine trots out during cricket season has very limited value.

I have a football with the signitures of

Dunstall/Crawford/Woods

Priceless for me, when i was growing up, around 11/12 all three players were my heroes, i would sell it if it was something which was a fair bit of $$$$, not for a mere 3-4 week salary
