It’s been 18 long, cold years since the mighty bombers last won the flag. In that time, BigFooty has clawed its way in the football supporting consciousness. It’s inevitable that Essendon will win it’s next flag soon. If not next year, then likely the following year. If not the following year, surely the one after. This will be the first red and black flag since BigFooty was in its infancy. How will BigFooty react? With gracious admiration and grudging respect for the difficult and brave journey this mighty club has made back from hurt, despair and near ruin? With joy in hearts for the players who endured so much for the club they love who finally get to taste ultimate success? One would think fans should always be cautiously optimistic so they don’t look like fools if it doesn’t work in their favour. You seem to show a lot of confidence an arrogance for a supporter of a team that hasn’t actually shown anything yet.
