Nick Stevens has he played better than Chris Judd this year...

played different roles....i am very happy with Stevo's year considering he was missing for all of last year!!!

should still be improving week to week based on his fitness improving!

Probably struggled with a hard tag this year...most teams know tagging Judd is useless as most of his ball is contested in the packs...Another midfielder head to head with Judd and he can be found out sometimes.

Stevens is our most damaging mid this year and can play both outside and inside. When stevens is down expect our inside 50's to be sloppy.

Considering he has come back from a very serious injury, I'd say he's done exceptional. Next year he'll have the benefit of a full pre season without having to take it easy on his body. Plus Gibbs, Murphy, Grigg, Walker (providing he rotates through the middle) to incrementally play better consistent football to relieve the pressure on him.

Bloody oath. Plays a blinder than was not to be seen.

I believe Stevens should be the midfielder that runs forward and kicks 1-2 goals per game.
im with you
hes a great kick for goal on the run.. not sure about set shots
he should be kicking at least 1 goal a game as he has the capacity to do so

He has been great coming back from such a serious injury. Very happy. He will be even better next year.

I'd love to see him around HFF though as he gets older. His kicking is immaculate and would be great at directing forward traffic.

Would be a sensational player if he didn't let piss-poor umpiring decisions get to him.
Once he has been pinged by an ump (often for holding the ball) he looses all momentum, pulling ugly faces, gritting his teeth, snarling, pointing, all that sort of pointless stuff and it takes him two or three minutes to get over it when he feels like he's been hard done by.

Apart from that I think he is presenting well, considering the mental courage needed to play after sustaining such a serious injury.

7.5 out of 10

Hes had a great year!
Was inspirational against the Tiggy's and is in our top 5 without a doubt!
Can't say he's been better than Judd but not far off!

Imagine Judds decision making, pace and ability to get the ball in packs mixed with Stevens Creativity, deadliness around goals and low bullet like passes in one person.

O wait i forgot we already have Gibbs on our list

Will he bwe in the All Australian Team?????
I believe he has a spot on the bench starting while many don't what your opnion???

Considering his neck injury was described as career threatening - and the operation he had held less than a 50/50 chance of getting him back playing, I think he has performed well.
Most players coming back from knee injuries, are challenged physically and mentally, and may take up to a year to get right back to their best..............you can imagine with Stevo, the mental side of this comeback would have been more challenging than any knee injury considering the nature of his injury.
Whatever we have seen and continue to get this season, should be seen on a more consistent basis next season........as all his energies will be on fitness and performance and not 'what ifs' and 'can i's'.

All up - just above average. Has been inconsistant and goes MIA often. Should be more attacking.

He's been fantastic...not sure what some people are on about regarding going missing.

He took a couple of games to get going which is understandable, and Friday night wasn't a high point him, but in between I think he's played his best footy for Carlton. Averaging 23 or 24 touches, kicking goals, laying tackles, and using the ball very well.

Has also been instrumental in a couple of our victories, namely West Coast and Richmond. Big leadership role in both of those games.

They play different games, but I'd have him on about par with Judd. Between them they will be 1 & 2 in the B&F.

7.5 or 8 outta 10 so far.

Cervical spine fusions prevent a lot of people from returning to their previous employment, and i wouldn't even consider playing club footy after having that procedure. Stevo's displayed immense courage to return to AFL this year, and he's been a good contributor.

Like most players he has a weakness, and IMO it's chasing oppo players when we don't have the footy, but overall he's in our best 3 or 4 players this season.

Noticed how we are rating him like any other year and any other player - and fair enough. I for one have been guilty of minimalizing what he went through last season. This bloke is lucky to be walking and now you could say he is back to his mercurial best. Lots of courage just to get on the park. Well done, Stevo. Some of his passing to Fev is Bradleyesque. Nuff said. :thumbsu:
