How's the Cousins book?

Nearly finished reading it. I can't believe how much I've enjoyed it. It's highly addictive. Great ready and I reccomend everyone to pick it up.

I have finished it. Very good read. I'd have to say it goes more in depth about his childhood and this gives an opening on how he became involved with shady characters, his commitment to football and the positive influences on his career and his life in general. It's not like a Harry Potter novel where you refuse to read the book and just go see the movie/doco.
 
Finished it last night, read the first half of it over a couple of days, but when I picked it up again last night at about 6:30, I didn't put it down until about midnight.

Just couldn't put it down, the Richmond part understandably was very short, but the book isn't about Richmond, its about his life and his addicition with drugs.

I finished this last week. Only took like a week and a half for me to read which is quite quick by my standards!

It was a good read, and I feel like it answers my questions about how I thought Ben always was. I guess most of it you knew or could work out for yourself - no major surprises. I just worry what Ben is doing right now. Hopefully he has something keeping him busy so he can stay off the stuff.

Anyway, I still haven't finished Richo's book but Cuz's book is far better. Not because of the story or anything but mainly how the book is told is a little disappointing by the bloke who wrote the Richo book.
 
I found the footy stuff in Ben Cousins book really really good.. The drug addiction story whilst interesting left me believing he is no way out of the woods in his personal fight by any means..

I found this as well, I love Richo, but Cuz's book was heaps better. I think he certainly has a story to tell more than Richo, that's why it ended up better. In certain parts of the Richo book the author starts talking about his extended family in some country town, completely irrelevant

Agreed - also spends alot talking about RFC history which I suppose has a place in a Richo book, but when he goes on about Wonnameari and the Demons because he just wrote a piece about them it's a little much
 
not sure that I ever finished it, was fairly good, explosive in parts in terms of what he got away with . he certainly proteced a few, I dont believe he acted alone through his goodfella days at WC. I read the section on RFC and I thought what was most interesting is the person he was most complimentary of was none other than wayne campbell, make of that what you will

Yeah, sounds like Campbell was instrumental in Cuz finishing his football career 'on a high'. He really mentored him and helped him learn what he needed to do in order to finish well at Richmond and prove he was worth the risk. :thumbsu:

Cambo was a champion player. Would've been more surprising had the bloke he complemented the most been Tim Clarke or Tim Livingstone.
