I mean come on, Angry Angus burger?

Couldn't they have come up with something, oh I dunno, not done just recently by their biggest rival?

Don't Maccas have a cheeseburger? WOW no one else thought of naming a burger that.

don't think i'll be trying one.... the burger on the ad seriously looks like it'd give you a heart attack after about 3 bites.

Im surprised Maccas hasn't filed a lawsuit and shut HJ off. It copies almost everything.

It reminds me of Big Mics at McDowell's from Eddie Murphy's film Coming to America.

Agree with the sentiment of the thread, but reading the thread title, do people really expect fast food restaurants to become revolutionaries in the world of cuisine?

Lol since when did Maccas own the rights to making angus burgers. Whats that, oh never cause its the type of meat.

Also every fast food joint copies it's competitors successful creations.

Sigh

Angus is a type of cow, not a brand name. Its like if they had a 'fillet steak' burger at Maccas and HJ launched one the next week, theyre copying the same type of meat yes but thats it.

^I think some people haven't comprehended that angus is a type of meat rather than just a marketed name for a burger.

Having said that, we've never seen an angus burger from one of these franchiese before, and in a commercial sense its a name that hasn't come up in the media often. With maccas succes with the burger, and hungry jacks consequential utilisation of angus meat, it's obvious that it wasn't an original action on hj's part, and I can understand people's sentiments.

Having said that, it's a fast food chain, so to me this doesn't seem like a big deal at all.

If you want originality, you're more likely to find it at a proper restaurant.

maccas and hj's to me are for picking up quick and easy food, not culinary credibility.

Exactly. And it's not just fast food either.

Remember when the energy drink Mother re-released it's brand in a bigger, 500ml can?

As soon as it started getting popular, Red Bull and V put out an identical can in the hope of not missing out on customers who prefer a bigger variety.

Red Bull released "Energy Shots"... and V comes out with "Pocket Rockets".

Angus is a breed of cattle. Angus as quality meat product was the result of a certification programme by US Angus growers and has to stand up to a certain level of quality. I doubt very much that teh maccas or HJ Angus burgers use the higher quality meat.
