i think its time to move josh up the ground to a half forward flank and have him play a stewart dew type role with that great left of his. sure he missed that shot on friday but he also kicked a super goal against adelaide.

no worse than having charlie on the half forward flank either.

win-win in my books.

I called for this 2 weeks ago.Hunt up forward and Callan in defence.Hunt was a forward at the Murray Bushrangers.

Maybe it'll get Hunt back into form.

Unless there's a match up that we need him for down back I would definately like to see Mike play up forward. He's good overhead, a super kick and he can barge through traffic when required.

Lets face it, his main attribute was his kicking in but opposition teams have done their homework and they set a zone 20 - 30 metres further back and give him the short option to the pocket. It's first in best dressed with the kicking in duties too so why not give him a go.

Hunt was not a forward at the Bushrangers. We played on each other a few times, i was a Half-Forward Flanker.

I actually know Josh, there were a few occasions where he went forward but mainly played in the back half.

Hey Darren Forssman if you are going to plagarise my comments at least acknowledge them.

This is what i said about half an hour before you started this post.

Yes we are all very critical at the minute and rightly so. So i thought i would come up with some ideas to maybe get us out of the rut we are in.

- Play Josh Hunt up forward, with his kicking ability anytime he gets he could be a threat a la Stuart Dew.

yer im a big fan of josh hunt and believe he should go foward
he just seems too be strugglin a bit atm in the back line
with his strength and skills he could be very dangerous alongside ablett and chapman....
:)

Well if that is the case, then may i say great minds think alike.

Hunt for the Magoos, if only for my sanity  . Ling for the forward line so he can't slow up delivery of the ball. Bomber for the Nigel Smart walk over hot coals to rediscover some much needed animation.

GO HARD CATS!!

Hunt is not the kind of player who is so important that we need to try him in numerous positions to find his niche because he is out of form. He's a good backman, but has been lazy and out of form thus far this season. Send him back to the 2's to find some form.

I'd much rather Steve Johnson on the flank than Hunt. He's had 2 weeks in the two's and has always been a lazy VFL player. Yes, he has been sent down there to do team things etc, but 10 goals in 2 games warrants promotion with the expectancy he should do those things on return.

Lets face it, if he doesnt he knows where he will be again. He'll also be fitter which should help.

As much as it would be interesting to see Hunt play up forward, it's not worth the risk at the moment. A win is a MUST this Friday night!

Well who would hunt eb lining up on?
I certainly wouldnt mind Callan being brought in, therefore making Hunt Riccardi for a week, and on they help himself to 3 goals from outside 50.

What do you mean its not worth the risk. Yeah what we are doing currently is working just fine lets keep it as is. We need to do something different and Josh up forward is one of them. He is a great kick who everytime he gets it between 50-60 will threaten.

If a win is a must we need to kick some goals.

Yes, Josh hunt is not working... thus he goes to the VFL. Friday proved he is not overly dangerous in front of goals. His kicking has let him down this season...

One miss does not mean you are not dangerous. I recall Gary Senior missing from directly in front 20-25m out. Does that mean he is not dangerous?

Over the last few years, Josh has kicked many sensational goals just refer to NAB Cup grand Final! SUPER GOAL!

Comparing Josh hunt and Gary Ablett snr is a tad ridiculous, and for the record Hunt has kicked 6 goals...

I like this. Callen must come in. Hunt to the wing or the "Riccardi role". Hunt seems more accurate when he kicks long or on the run. The flank puts him too close to goal.

Thehoff knows his stuff. You never told me you played on The Hardbodied Hunt!
I,d be a lil concerned seeing Hunt go forward, his finishing skills from set shots aren't to crash hot. Don't get me wrong i think his an absolute gem of a player, but just needs to go back to the VFL and start doing the things that got him to where he was at last year. I think he lost alot of confidence after the doggies game. He played a big part in 7 of the doggies goals! In saying what i said, he has a great record against the Saints so he may turn it around this week!

Don't remember Gazza laughing at an opponent then proceeding to kick a point either.
