Hypothetical - Grand Final Day Team

Lets say for all intents and purposes that somehow we find ourselves in the last Saturday of September 2007 with a full list to choose from for the biggest game of the year.

With such amazing contributions from so many kids, how do we select the team? Youthful exhuberance v finals experience. Obviously we would need to balance it out........Who is the 22 you would run out with. Lets assume its a glorious sunny day (two rucks) and the G is in tip-top shape.

Is Nick "86" Maxwell hypothetically injured / suspended, or did his form hypothetically go through the floor in the spring? An unsung warrior who often fights above his weight, i reckon he'd be a Malthouse favourite.

Was this team selected with a hypo. opponent in mind, reluctant to select a 2nd ruck (Bryan) for the sake of having 2 rucks - remember that guy Kinnear, 2003 GF?

FWIW, Iles & Bryan out, 86 & Holland in, Licuria the tradgedy that all premierships sides have.

I hear you on that one.....I actually don't have him in my team. Could have been an emergency but I think Goldsack is a better version of Nick. I also left out Wakelin who has been in good form......its a tough task.

Wakelin's good for experience.

He'd be in my side if Clarke wasn't allowed.
He has proven he can play forward and back.

Dunno bout Holland, he plays dirty, and cracks under pressure.

Licca, in my side, is the tragedy, too.

I know Im going to get ripped to shreads for this .. but Im loving the way Wakelin Is Rebounding and starting our run from full back .. and bringing Presti in will eliminate that n affect how we play .. I love our fast attacking game atm .. also Clarke only there if we r lucky enough to have someone on the long term injury list .. I also think Egan and Rusling if both were fit would be knocking on the door. Also maybe with the wealth of options down back Clement could be thrown forward on occassion to cause a mismatch or O'Brien.

The only person i would take out instead of obree would be goldy!
I know he is a favourite of alot of ppl, but i think we have to stamp out poor ball usage and reward courage (which is one of the reasons why lonie isnt in my team). Obree find sthe ball but he is a poor user of the footy and makes poor decsions, i whince everytime he goes to dispose of it!
