Picture this...Woosha's contract is up for renewal and Mick Malthouse walks in and says to the CEO and the President....I hate Melbourne, things arnt working out at Collingwood,I cant get along with Eddie or Nathan...I want to come back and coach the Eagles!
If you were the Club President or CEO what would you say..Yeah Mick, you can have your job back or
Piss of Mick, were staying with Woosha (hypothetically he has had a good year with the boys!!)
What would you all do?

Yeah, nothing more than a director of coaching role, except is Mick and Woosha on good terms. Woosha has the coaching job, he is doing a good job and has youth on his side so he could be the next Kevin Sheedy if he is good enough, Mick wouldn't be able to do that sorta thing, plus i question whether his gameplan is right for us again, as he ALWAYS uses his same gameplan.

I'd actually tell Mick to piss off, but thats my opinion

Sorry Mick, but no, you let us know where your heart really lies.....

Mick had his turn, Woosha deserves it....

Now, if we inserted KJ where MM is, I think KJ would not get in the front door....*G*

"Bugger off Mick, you've had your time, we're living in the Woosha era now".

I wouldn't want him back. As good a coach as he is, he had his time. I respect him for what he achieved for us and all that, but wouldn't want him back regardless of how Woosha went.

I would tell him that we loved him over here for what he had achieved but the main coaching job was taken. However perhaps we could discuss some other position in the club.

Now I still think Malthouse is a good coach and with him we would have probably made the finals in the last couple of years. The problem is that as eagleskickass said, his game plan is always the same. It still gets some results but some coaches are now ahead of him.

I'm only answering this hypothetical question because you posed it in the correct way - this will not happen because of Mick's domestic situation.

I believe that Mick would broach the subject with Woosha first and then, if Woosha wanted it, Mick may be offered some position like Director of Football.

Back to reality - Eagles v Collingwood GF with them coaching opposing sides in 2005?

Ahh, that would be a show :)
To be honest, I think it would simply be a case of 'ask woosha' if the situation arose. Worsfold has been given the position, and it is his prerogative to make the decisions, given that he is going to be the bloke who gets crucified if two years down the track we're terrible.

Maybe offer Mick an Assistant Coaching Role or as a Development Officer. But realistically he will never downgrade his current position, the only other clubs I could see him coach would be St Kilda or Richmond (clubs he played for).

Id be nice about telling Mick to get stuffed :D I love the guy and what he did for the club and what he achieved with out club in the time he was here. But that time has passed now and Whoosha is now our coach....and thank god for that :D

It would be unfair on Woosha to have someone at the club like MM in any position breathing down his kneck. So MM should remain a legend of his time with WCE and let Woosha become the next coaching legend.

A more ugly scenario would be how you would feel about MM if he came back and coached Freo!!!!!!!!!!

Then we would become that "Mob up the road"
