Hypothetical - Sam Darcy or Nick Daicos

You said "If i want a premiership I'm taking Darcy everytime", possibly the dumbest comment in the thread so far, given Daics has already played a key role in a flag
This is a stupid comment, would you also take Cal Ah Chee over Darcy too because he played a key role in a flag?

You said "Hes no Ablett/Judd/Bont who puts the team on their back" 😆, so I provided exhibit A, here's exhibit B and I can provide another 20 bud

Should we pull out 'The List' of Daicos Matchwinning performances?

I wonder if any other current player had been a matchwinner in 1 of every 4 games he's played?

No it's fine to pick Darcy, as long as your reasoning is not stupid

Next time just say "I pick Darcy" and leave it at that 👍
How about you pipe down and let people comment on what they like old mate.

traditional logic says take the tall, but i think this comes down to what other parts are in the side. i mean if i was selecting for the crows right now i'd take daicos because we have the forward line already.

Lol, Cripps regularly goes to pieces at key moments, he's never played a good final, he's nowhere near this conversation
Wrong thread pal.

I think the idea is you assume that you are building a side from scratch

I understand the point you both are trying to make, however 20 years ago there was no 200cm KPFs and KPDs that had the current levels of athleticism we see either. So it is not out of the question that more KPDs that can 'tag' Darcy will come into the system during his career. In fact, Mac Andrew vs Darcy will be a fun watch for the next ten years if they keep progressing the way they are.

Also worth noting that it is still possible to quell one player's influence forward in today's systems if they are that much more of a threat than the rest of the forward line, simply by double teaming or asking your interceptor/third tall defender to stay closer to him than their own opponent. It can be exploited by the team on the receiving end but it would reduce the KPF output and something we might see against the Dogs more often as Darcy continues to go up a level.

One thing in Darcy's favour in this context is that umps are much hotter on holding free kicks to a KPFs attempting to run for the mark than they are for mids going towards the contest, so as teams may struggle in the future against Darcy's size and skills, get ready for plenty of whistles to come his way.
A fair, well-thought out and reasonable response. What we do know is they will both provide excitement for their teams over many years to come.
