OK, so injuries have exposed the problem we knew we had from the get go and we're sitting at the bottom after 6 rounds.

We're not the worst team in the comp, and we've got some serious talent to come back in.

Worst case scenario would be that the injuries continue and we finish bottom three.

Best case scenario would be that we get our squad back together and string a heap of wins together, landing us in the finals.

Let's assume a medium case scenario, where we finish about 10th or so.

The hypothetical is, if we land a Pick 7 (the cursed pick) to pick 10, what would you like to use it for?

Whether is be via drafting or trading, what is the type of player that you think we need most?

Personally, I think it's obvious: a gun speedster with good finishing skills. From last year's draft, players that fitted that description still available at that stage included Kane Tenace and Ryley Dunn.

What's your preferred #1 recruiting aim??

I would like to see us secure Travis Cloke with the F/S 3rd rounder. Then O'Bree, Williams, Kinnear, McKee and one of our young medium paced midfielders should be used to trade up our first found pick for an earlier pick if possible. If needed our second and 4th round pick could also be put into deals. If Kinnear, Williams and McKee are not wanted by other clubs as is likely they should be delisted regardless of their contrats.

I would also like to see a reeady made big buiold ruckman snared. Brisbane may release on iof theirs but their injury histroy may be a worry. After that a fast midfielder would be a draft priority.

Grave Danger took my thunder a tad, and the last thing I want to do is pick at a scab that is only starting to heal, but it is unfortunate Port and the Pies could not decide on an adequate trade (again I don't wish to go over old ground).

Lets face it, the Pies need a little more skill in the centre to share the load (nick stevens) and Port need a little of Collingwoods mongrel so as to play a little less pretty footy (whether Williams sees it that way or not).

Again this comment is not meant to start further discussion re last year.....

That's what I thought.

We've got some prospects in the realm of high posession, primarily outside midfielders with good but not great pace and tidy skills. Mullins, Rowe, Didak (if he ever gets a spell on the ball) and Brayden Shaw.

You need these guys, and any team in the comp would want Stevens, but I'm after a bona fide speedster.

A Crawford type (in form) would do nicely!

As I said at the time and ever since, Stevens is not the sort we need. We need an out and out speedster to offset the medium pacers we have. Perhaps I under estimate his pace but he doesn;t seem qucik enough to me. He looks to me like he'd make a good middle distance runner rather than a sprinter. How quick is Nick?

You beat me to it - I should read the whole thing before I reply. craf would be great but he'd cost a bucketload more than Stevens and we couldn't pay that. Our only option is to draft a bunch of kids with pace and hope some can play if we want to get some pace in the middle. We really don't need to draft talls or ball getting midfielders with our squad. Our other option is to trade a tall away. If we can pick up Travis Cloke that might be an option.

First Put a **** Load of time onto Gett T. Cloke here, then with pick 7, get a gun midfielder who si damn quick i would also like to see mckee, williams, shaw and kinnear get delisted this year.

Good topic, lets hear some more.

Didnt KINNEAR sign a 2 year deal at the end of last season?

Did He? I dunno.

How is This Blokes still on the List after 7 Years and he still ain't able to keep a spot in the team?

unfortuneatly for us all he did sign a new deal last year so will still be contracted next year.
dead set shocking decision from all involved. we get rid of fringe players that at least offered something here and there such as betheras and freeborn and keep this complete waste of air on our list and reward him with a contract extension.
someones head should roll for this.
seeing as he couldn't possibly be on a significant amount i suggest we still get rid of him and improve our list by this mere act. would prefer to go into the season one player short. at least mm will not be able to play him ever again.
words cant explain how ****ed off i am with this situation.

gee that felt good.:)

1. Speedy and SKILLED winger/middie, or a frontrunner to put it bluntly (FIGJAM ON THE MONEY) Ease him into his AFL career up forward.

2. Nick Davis type (still ****ed off about losing him for nothing) can take a mark on the lead, crumb.

3. Travis Cloke (Please be a gun CHB)

We need a young bucks (or 2 would do nicely) plus a forward, a key defender and another key foward. I think another couple of trade for some of Freo's less popular players eg the longmuires might be beneficial. We need to trade to develop uor depth and we all know who needs to get the axe.

To develop the depth we don't need to trade we need to play the draftees and keep taking talented kids as we sift through what we have. If we trade for anything bar a ruckman and/or genuine pace we will be going backwards.
