No way am I jumping ship to the rivals, but Port has 4 games left for the season, 3 of which are against competitors of ours for a spot in the top 8:

R19 v Carlton
R20 v Collingwood
R22 v Kangaroos

No matter how much it kills all of you, I feel if it is in our teams' best interest, then I will do it.

Today was the first time I have EVER wanted them to win, and then have had heartfelt disappointment when they lost.

I feel very dirty supporting them, but it is for our own chances at the title. :thumbsu:

Also they are going ot drop to 3rd bottom when Freo complete the demolition job on WCE. Even in my biased opinion, they are not THAT bad, and it would sicken me if they got the 3rd (4th? Not sure how many games Melbourne won last year) draft pick in a good pool like this year's, when they really don't 'deserve' it.

that's all you will ever get from them this year...i wouldn't count on them winning any more games...still 50/50 on their game against Melbourne coming up.
anyway, them winning some games will not help our chances of winning the title; that's up to the crows...them winning games would only make it easier for us to cement a top 8 spot.

...and Port better win at least 1 more game...i'd be annoyed if they got priority picks just for their tanking efforts all year.

I'm not sure you can say we dont deserve it, the media both local and naitonal as well as aspects of our own supporter base have done everything except burn Alberton down in reaction to some of the simply horrid performances this year. We've had 19K crowds rocking up to matches TWICE this season (it's only happened one other time in our history) its been a horrible year and lots of ego's have been bruised and battered. This draft as great as it's being billed to be won't be enough for us to climb out of this hole either..

For what it's worth Porp's is an absolute champ courage and heart like that are what clubs are built on, hope some of our boys take note...

And to win the title we have to get in the Top 8

I felt the same, I supported them because winning for them offers no value and only helps us. I was annoyed then let the Saints run over the top of them. If Port had of held on it would have put us in 6th by a game and percentage.

Never have - never will - barracked for Port in ANY game and have no intention of starting now......Crows get into the 8 on their own ability - relying on someone to beat someone else is garbage - We write our own destiny not let some feral scum do it for us.........:)

I wonder how safe Choco's job must be right about now.

At the start of the year, they were widely predicted to be top 4 after making the GF unexpectedly last year. The "Revolution" was to continue...

This year has been a sad state of affairs for them. They can't blame injury as only Chad Cornes and Matt Thomas (who has played a fair bit of SANFL this year anyway) have missed significant time due to injury.

I think we can now see that it was their old players, not their over-hyped youngsters who got them so far last year. For all the rebuilding, it was still the Lade, Brogan, Cornes x2, Burgoyne x2 and Cassisi who carried them. Rodan and Carlisle are the only players on the list who have improved since last year.

I won't be supporting them yet but come round 22 and if we are requiring other results to go our way then maybe I will.

I was barracking hard for the Power today, while simultaneously hoping the Magpies would fall short at Alberton.

Unfortunately the results ended up being the exact opposite.

I can see Port winning one or two of their home games to come against Collingwood or Melbourne. Can't see them beating Carlton or the Kangas away but u just never know.

Altho it would have helped us if they had got up today it is good to see them almost on the last rung of the ladder with not much chance of getting any higher now Freo have actually found some form.

I don't feel dirty barracking for Port because I almost always barrack for them against Essendon or Collingwood (unless a loss would help the Crows).

We're happily in the top 8, and can look after our own interests.

As for the other mob, it's looking more and more like the greatest collapse in VFL/AFL history for any grand finalists. I'll enjoy the schadenfreude more than I'll regret the high draft pick.

Or a Brooks, a Rombotis or a Koulouriotis. They've got every bit as much chance of stuffing up with a first round pick as any other club.

I may be completely off base, but I can't remember of too many top 3 picks that have been complete duds (barring injury).

I dare say we will lose all 3 and you scum will miss the 8:(
so sad too bad.
Priority picks are only available if you lose a certain amount in 2 years now as the rules were changed once Carlton milked it for everything it was worth.

Always happy when the pricks lose.

Especially when they lose and it goes towards my first 8 of the season.

Fiora - Richmond took him at 3 ahead of Pavlich, who went at 4.

Not a complete dud, but he does give that title a bit of a nudge though.

I think youll find we gave up the chance for PP when we beat you.

We essentially got Pickett for Brooks. I think that worked out well!

Rombotis was the dissapointing one.

Has turned into one of those solid players that you'd be happy to get with a 3rd round pick but with pick 3 and to overlook Pavlich, pretty dissapointing.

Longmuir is probably another that probably never really lived up to expectation.

Looking over the last 10 years, historically the difference in standard from pick 3s to pick 4s is pretty big.

Wasn't it Salopek for Brooks?
