For Hill, Suban, Broughton, deBoer, Pearce, Balla having to play in the same team as Thornton, Dodd, Bradley, Mundy, Peake when he's there.

How demoralising must it be to work so hard only to see them **** it up? Or have to be continually fixing up the ****-ups that they make?

Thank the gods there are players like Pav, Sandi, Taz, Hase to look up to for them, cos otherwise you'd almost want to top yourself. :(

Just imagine what it must be like for the eagles youngsters..

Shits me that the entire world can see that Thornton is no good behind centre, yet every now and then the coaches want to send him down there. I understand that he was probably the only one available to play that position, but it still frustrates me.

Yeah I agree somewhat although the kids didnt have great games today at all. Broughton was very good and the others were good in patches such as Ballas (needs to finish though), Pearce, Walters, DeBoer (a few poor kicks), Suban (Drifted out of it), Hill (poor first half).

I think Dodd played quite well today and Bradley as well. Thornton needs to go for Pratt IMO. Mundy was Ok in patches too but a few poor efforts and we cannot keep accepting average games from him (trade table calling).

Agree with you on Dodd had a good game today IMO. Loose on Aker but I think that was the wrong match up for him and helped in other areas defensively.

Disagree on Bradley, did a couple of good things but is generally a liability i.e. he's weak, slow, and has sh*t disposal to boot. Delist please..

Thornton was pretty good today I thought, except he's not doing anything someone like Pratt couldn't do, so I agree...bring in Pratt for him.

Think Mundy sometimes gets targeted unfairly on this board. Today I feel he pulled his finger out, saved us from others mistakes and had the poise to dispose of the ball effectively. More intensity was shown from him today, but some people are right that he needs to show that more often. Do not trade, players with his skills in our team are a dime a dozen.

IP you are on the right track, but we must keep in mind that if we had minimal injuries, some of the dud's and youngsters wouldn't be getting a game.

The injuries have allowed us to throw the youngsters to the "lions" and see how they survive. I think most of the youngsters have done very well. I will not tolerate any abuse of Hill, Suban, De Boers, Broughton, Clarke etc, they have done bloody well for first year players. We at times forget they are first year players, but we must raise the bar again for them next year.

Hopefully with the "forgotten" players returning next season, Palmer, Johnson and Hayden, we will be able to dispense with the duds.

I already have 4 players ticked to leave our senior list, luckily they weren't playing today.

I think Bradley gets an unfair rap here, sure he's not a top rated player, but I think there is still some good in the Sasquash.

Mundy, geez, I don't remember ever abusing Mundy here, but geez his bad points kill us every time.

The deer in headlights getting caught holding the ball is classic. He was watching the player and stumbled over the ball. One of the youngsters would of dived in and damn near killed themselves getting the ball.

Still, I thought the team held up well today.

I think we need to keep Bradley Dodd Thornton Peake as depth players. They are all solid at times and can cover a variety of positions when injuries occur.

Dodd is one of our best defenders and give 100% every week. His disposal /decision making is a problem but to be fair he usually gets best small forward and our bckline is always under extreme pressure.

If Mundy had Dodd's application and determination he would be a star.

tarrant, usually gets the best small forward depending on the side playing (lecras, johnson and co).. our backline is under extreme pressure a lot of the time, due to his poor decision making and disposal.... dodd and peake MUST go imo, unfortunately im resigned to the fact dudd will stay :(

Unfortunately he has a point. De Boer's kicking wasn't even WAFL standard yesterday. It hasn't been too bad over the course of the season though so hopefully yesterday was just a one off.

Thank you for your erudite, well thought out and meaningful contribution to the discussion. Have a nice day.

Yes i agree Thornton, Bradley, Dudd, Mundy are a terrible AFL players. There's always a few spuds in a team. Unfortunately your list seems to have them in abundance... Do the right thing and let Pav go, passionate AFL followers want to see champions of the game succeed.

Van Berlo and Adelaides 1st rounder would be good for you lot.

I raise your thornton, bradley, dudd and mundy with a hansen, lynch, nicoski, wilkes, butler, fletcher, notte and masten..... i dont care what you say after that... you can not out trump me, that is the worst 8 footballers in the league right there

While I agree with you, what I found encouraging was the way he got back on the horse. He accepted he was having shocker, he still continued to win the ball and began to handball at every opportunity. When he was caught with no handball option he actually kicked well and then when he had the last set shot he nailed it. The easy option would have been not to win the ball.

It's pretty obvious he did a lot of work on his kicking this year but when the mechanics deserted him he didn't shirk the contest. He will have got a lot of confidence from his last 2 kicks of the match.

Some players have been all but destroyed by kicking yips so the fact he came back strongly bodes well for his strength of character.

Could you imagine Deboer's foot disposal with a history of OP?!:o

masten op or not, is one of the worst first round picks ever... when are you going to accept it... he is a dud of chad fletcher proportions. i wish you would stop bringing this crap to our board..

Good point. I think it's been a positive of his all season that he seems to know his limitations and is willing to build his game around those. For instance, as you said, when he realised his kicking wasn't up to scratch, he began handballing more. Interestingly enough, he finished up at an 80% effective disposal rate, his highest since round 12 against Geelong yet still had 15 touches. It was really good to see him get that last shot at goal as well.

you're bringing crap to this board by saying masto is one of the worst first round picks. dumb statement from an equally simple poster
