I have had to deal with those fine 
establishments Telstra, Bigpond and Austar over the past 2 weeks and all I can say is I HATE 1300 NUMBERS!!!! Thanks to this "new technology voice generated calls" there is about 4 hours of my life I won't get back, and that's just time wasted on calling Telstra just to get a new land line. Don't get me started on Bigpond and Austar. 
Had to call Telstra this a.m. spent 10 mins on hold, then finally spoke to a "person" then I stated my query then transfer, then more wait, then another person, then another transfer and wait - was a tad miffed to say the least. It doesn't help that Telstra's hold music is rubbish and then a blurb "Telstra, official sponsor of the Australian Olympics" Who give's a monkeys on that, if they spent more on staff who could take calls than on corporate sponsorship and name flipping footy grounds....grrrr...:mad
