Must admit, last year it was Bevan on the top of my list for trade bait but he has been great this year. Gotta lot of respect for him after kicking those 2 goals when we needed them last night and note the little fuss he made about doing it.

Bevan was great last night and has had a fantastic season. I always loved the way he played the game but I really didn't have a lot of hope in him improving his decision making and disposal. Happy to say I was wrong about him too.:thumbsu:

I had faith in him (and McVeigh)...
He's basically a upgrade on Matthews on everything aspect...just take Bevan out of the backline and there's less issue on his decision-making.

Brilliant set shot inside 50 (similar to Matthews lol).

Always had respect for how hard he goes and putting his body on the line but where has this new Bevan come from where he seems a reliable kick for goal he must be on his highest goal kicking tally for a season surely !!!

Cant underestimate that shot from McVeigh from a tight angle boy has he stepped up still not a hard nut but is running hard and finding space. What a pass from LRT too shocked me

The Swans have benefited from most of the 2nd tier players stepping up a notch this season. Bevan does his role well and is always willing to put his body on the line. He's also good under pressure in front of goal.

Not being negative but i was listening to the telecast when he scored those goals... considering the Swans' fightback and how crucial Bevan's goals were when he scored them.. they were saying how not many of the boys congatulated Bevan on his goals.

Especially the closeness of it i thought they would've scurried over to him.. anyway if someone can explain the situation then i'll be better for it.. ;)

I've also noticed that if a player scores 2 goals in quick succession they get to have a 'rest'. I saw that with Goodes last week and this week with Bevan.

As soon as he kicked his 2nd he turned and sprinted straight to the bench.

Goodes did the same thing when he kicked that 65m goal in the first qtr.. He sprinted off big time too.. There must be a reward waiting for them.. like a bag of snakes or something.. I know i'd be doing my darndest if that was the reward for kicking 2 quick goals in succession.. :D

Well said Lazy, credit where credit is due to guys like Bevan and McVeigh. Roos has persevered with them and shown great faith when alot of us fans were far more sceptical. But they've both really stepped up this year, along with guys like Teddy Richards.

I'll at least make a relevant comment. Bevan has definitely stepped up. McVeigh like wise. Bevan's always been pretty good in front of goal.

McVeigh's goal from the boundary speaks wonders about how accurate his kicking's been.

Can you see the irony in Roos' comments at the start of the year? lol..

... ahhh, how quickly we forget! ... why the fuss about Bevo... or LRT for that matter???

They are after all, both Swans Premiership Players! ... they must have some quality about them!

... interesting to sit back and take stock and note that other than Ball and Williams (retired), and Schneider and Dempster (sniff:(), we have all of the other 18 players from the '05 GF side still playing, and either getting fit, finding form (or returning from suspension!) at the right time ... + the newbies are all looking the goods too!

... top 4 here we come again ... and then????
