Fergus said:Thought he was going to be good:
David Gallagher - Looked to have time to use the ball when he first started and his game against Hawthorn (IIRC) was pretty good. I just didn't realise that it just took him longer than others to decide what to do with it.

Would have to agree with all of this DT.dyertribe said:Thought he was going to be a gun, turned out to be a dud:
Ben Marsh - 10 touches, 3 goals and 17 hitouts on debut. Looked every bit like a young Jeff White. Turned out to be more of a white flag.
Brent Williams - 1995 U18 AA CHF. Big, tall, mobile, a booming kick. Played the first seven rounds of '97 with mixed fortunes. Pick of the bunch was round 2 when he delivered 15 touches, 5 marks and 2 goals against Richmond. Looked decent enough. Was dropped after our home win over Essendon and never played AFL football again, even after being traded home to Melbourne.
Thiught he was a dud, turned out to be a gun:
Kenny McGregor - Not only did he play like a hack, he looked like something out of Revenge Of The Nerds. Coming into 2005 he still looks like a nuffy, but he's now one of the most accomplished CHBs in the comp who is also more than handy while pinch-hitting up forward. Humble pie to go.

M.Robran -Turned out to be a dud.
QUOTE]
This is abit silly TopJars.
The facts are Robran was a dual premiership player playing in the hardest possie on the ground. The Crows CHF in our team of the decade. 2 quiet GF's (although he did lift in the 98 2nd half) but he bagged 6 in the prelim in 98 to help us get there
IMO he had an amazingly good skill level for a big bloke. He had weaknesses yes but theres no way he could be called a dud

West Adelaide

West AdelaideNo I think he has simply carried on at the Crows the way he was playing at Port.portentous said:Where does Matty Bode fit in all of this? Did you have high expectations of him and has he lived up to them? Curious 'tis all.
West AdelaideHow true - how often are we sucked in by a footballers physiquetinman said:I also confess to thinking that when the finally put Chalmers to full back that he showed something for the first time and sucked me in to believing he had finally found his spot at AFL level.
