If the travesty that was The Stone Roses gig at Reading Festival 1996 was your guide then you'd say no.

He's not the greatest singer there's ever been, he's no Jeff Buckley for instance. However, he's very good at what he does, I defy anyone to knock the albums he's done with The 'Roses and solo. His voice fits the sound he's going for. On record he's good, live hit & miss. I think that's probably the best way to sum it up.

Hit and miss live. Hardly on his own there though.

The Stone Roses debut album is one of the greatest albums of all time for what its worth.

Funniest/saddest/worst thing I've ever seen on a stage. A loved band falling apart in front of 40,000 people - some of them running from the stage in tears.

And to answer the question, no.

To be fair that 'loved' band had pretty much fallen apart before that Reading fiasco. No Reni, No John Squire. Just Monkey Boy himself Ian Brown, Mani and a couple of session musos from Simply Red if i recall. That wasnt the Stone Roses anyway.
