Thinking of buying a wheelie bin or some big container that can at least go up to my waist (Dont have a bath tub)

Buying 2-3 bags of ice on the way home.

Then 5 mins ice, 1 min hot shower. Repeat for 3 cycles.

Thoughts? Is there a better way?

still used all the time by professional athletes, you'd think they'd have all this info years ago

i haven't been a fan of ice baths, just made my legs feel stiff although it seemed to help if i had a knock. i'd stretch/massage, drink lots of water with a nice meal and have a warm shower or bath...i'm hardly an elite athlete though

although in summer or on hot days i'll have a cool bath, shower or go for a swim at the beach

they'd be aware of it but they have elite recovery so they'd be battling cortisol with other methods i'd say and the 1% benefit they might get from the blood flow thus recovery of the ice baths is their main aim i'd say

A fully cold shower after exercise really helps me feel much better, I haven't tried an ice bath yet but am keen to do it soon. Alternating between cold and hot would be great for most people.
