If only... We were able to tell the Players Association, that we have changed the conditions of employment for players at our Club.

To me there is only one Real motivating factor that would drive our players to quickly improve their disposal & general game smarts & that is MONEY...

I propose a system of 'Reward & Loss' in regards to player payments, where for example they do a clanger or obviously do something on the ground that is against the game plan that all week they have been told to avoid doing, then deductions will be made from their pay packet... Equally, if they hit their targets, do the team things, follow instructions & generally improve their output, then they will be suitably rewarded...

As I see it, the players of this generation have got it too easy, I believe a bit of hard love is required, to actually help them realise at this level their output is not good enough... If their wallet is a bit emptier, then maybe that will work in our favour... I can hear their cries of " It's not fair' already...

I know it won't be able to be introduced, but didn't Geelong have a reward system created to encourage team efforts & the like??? It seems to have done wonders for them!!!

Michael Nunan tried that once. He resigned not long afterwards.

My if only though...

If only the goal umpire was the only person who was given power to initiate the goal review system. The field umpire and the boundary umpire should never come into calculations when there is a disputed score. If the goal umpire is sure it should be up to him/her. A goal decision should never come down to those who are not in the position to judge. That's what goal umpires are there for.

Well yeah mate, obviously not because of that though - you're talking about '96, I'm guessing :(

Mick Nunan was a damn good coach too of course, and ahead of his time in various ways, which added a little more sadness and frustration to that which already existed.

Another consequence of the AFL's whiteanting of the Roys being the fact that Nunan never got a chance to establish himself.
