My only question is if Geelong manage to arse their way to yet another flag this year will "the protected one" change his mind and stick around?

The Ablett deal is done and dusted. He has already made a handshake agreement with Gold Coast months ago, it will be the highest $ trade in AFL history, that includes Judd and the under the table deals currently going on with him and Carlton. The only thing stopping him from signing with Gold Coast right now is the fact he is currently playing for Geelong and that it would have an impact on himself and the Geelong team as they attempt to win their last flag before the mighty Gold Coast starts to dominate the league.

You can't really blame Ablett, he owes Geelong nothing. They gave him a good run and helped him become a successful player, in return he gave them 2 maybe 3 premierships.

The deal has already been done and GC + Ablett are just waiting until the end of the season to make the trade official, so premiership or not its irrelevant.

The contention that GAJ was going was attacked due to the personal definciencies of one of the folk suggesting it was done deal.
