It occurred to me the tthe effects of the sub rule only occur in the second half of a game
All 22 play nornal as befor until half time.
At half time the coach puts one or two of his players in the green vests. form then on they can only be swapped in, and the outgoing player wears the red.
Of course if there are injuries before half time, the club will make the injured player one of the subs
On other radvantage is the subs will get a half of footy each week, if they remain fit
- The rotations defecit due to injury only hurts in the second half
- The game only 'opens up' in the second half (not sure the sub rule is the reason though)
