If you could go back in time and give Richmond 3 warnings around 1982 that might save us the pain of the last twenty odd years, what would they be???

Mine would be:

WARNING 1 - and most imortant one of them all

If a bumpkin from a loser culture ever turns up offering to coach saying "yeah nah ill get your club back on the winners list and she'll be cherry ripe"

Lock the doors and call security immediately!!!!!!

WARNING 2

Forget about players from other clubs and get a reserves side where players learn the craft for a good fifty to seventy games. That would help the period of the eighties.

WARNING 3

Base your player payments on the worth of a player and not what it takes to keep or get someone at the club. That way we would have kept Cloke and Raines and sniffed out the money hungry like Gaspar and Ottens before they r*ped us.

Ive connected the car to the town hall, just waiting for the electrical storm.

1. If a guy by the name of John Northey wants another year on his contract please give it to him. (who knows what may have happened if he stayed, not saying he was the answer though still would be nice to see where he could have taken the side of 95).

2. If guys by the name of Daffy, Campbell, Richardson, Bourke, Holland ask for large pay rises tell them the club will not reward players for a job half done, if they threaten to walk, then trade them.

3. If a guy by the name of Ian Campbell turns up, pretend your not home. If he goes round the back and sees you pretend your closed, do not let him in.

Advice I would have offered if given the opportunity by the RFC back in 82

1) To save fledging membership numbers and avoid tin rattling,introduce an asian friendly membership,one that entitles the holder to a 10 percent discount at the local flea market/rooster fights.- Watch membership numbers go thru the roof especially in neighbourig Richmond.
There wont be a commission flat in Tigerland that doesn't have a membership
- expected rise -30,000 -CONSTANT.

2) If a bloke caleed Allan Bond comes sniffing close the doors and cut your losses.This creature only appears when completed destruction is imminent.

3) Dont ever let the players run the club.
They will kill it.

4) If 2 Boeing 747s take out twintowers on Manhattan island Ny,
It is time to fire the coach as he is,in some way,responsible for this travesty.

5) S-T-E-R-O-I-D-S !!! Get use to the word.

Some more warnings

1. Although the game is founded on passion and myths, it is going to become more and more rationalised and economically driven as the years roll on, so make sure you don't make any emotional/personal decisions which get in the way of these objectives (specialisation and money), becuase you will be left behind.

2. Get extremely clever people SUITED to their jobs pulling the strings behind the scenes in administration and put a charismatic puppet at the head of the organisation.

3. Stay clear of guys with the surnames Banik, Lounder, Rombotis, Biddiscombe, Hilton, Fiora and Pettifer. If available, make sure you pick guys with the surnames Hird, Voss, Carey, Buckley, Harvey, Matera Judd and Pavlich.
